You know, despite the rumors and apparent obvious appearance change, Bonds hasn't been convicted of anything. I think it's important to stick with "innocent until proven guilty." Especially when there is a media frenzy around the subject.

That said, I'm almost glad that alot of people think some of the great records have been devalued. Maybe winning will become more important, instead of stats.

Bonds actually admitted that he unknowingly took steroids. It just hasn';t been played up by the media as much because it's about the 19th biggest piece of evidence against him.

I didn't want to see him pass Ruth because I don't want ANYONE thinking he was better than Ruth, not even someone who watched 3 games in their entire life who would base on who is the best based on career stats.

Shit, I don't think Bonds is even better than Ty Cobb or Ted Williams who is OBSCENELY underrated and Bonds didn't lose a few years of his playing career to go fight Nazis.

A. Bonds hasn't been charged or convicted with anything
B. Babe Ruth was most likely NOT this Saint that everyone (Yankee Fans) make him out to be.

So, I actually hope he passes AARON next season.  Everyone hates him - yet everyone watches when they show his at-bats during SportsCenter.

I only hope that, once conclusive proof of Barry's 'roid use is established, that baseball does the right thing and strikes Bonds' HR marks from all record books. Same with any other slugger who can be proven to have used steroids to enhance his performance. It's time to clean things up, folks... It isn't going to be easy and it isn't going to be fun, but once it's done, baseball will be a helluva lot better off for it.

Who makes Ruth out to be a saint? Aside from his work with children(which to be fair, was a lot because he grew up in an orphanage too so he related), you just hear about what a drunk he was off the field. Good teammates to some, but I am pretty sure he was a prick to Gehrig.

Actually, as far as the ratings thing goes, the ratings go down on ESPN shows when they cut in with Barry's at bats. The fans have long stopped caring, even though the emdia has shoved it down our throats.

OJ was never convicted either, that doesn't mean you can't take an intelligent look at the evidence and make up your own mind. MLB can't do anything without a conviction and I agree with that policy, but there is so much evidence against Barry you would have to be related to him to think he was innocent.

 Â    I don't care.  Plain and simple, I just don't care.  Yes, he just passed one of baseball's all-time greats.  Yes, he broke a record that is one of the most hallowed records in Major League Baseball.  Fact of the matter is, I just don't care.  Call me UnAmerican, call me a bad sports fan, call me what you will, I just don't give a damn.  I can't cheer for a man who used steroids and growth hormone to get to where he is.

 Â I am sick and fucking tired of the media; mainly ESPN, shoving this crap down mine and everybody else's throat!  I do not watch Bonds on Bonds, everytime ESPN goes to show one of Barry's "at bats" I flip the channel, everytime there's highlights on SportsCenter of Barry, I flip the channel.  I don't care, I don't care because this just sickens me.  I just don't understand the fascination with this scumbag chasing a record that in the end will ultimately be taken away from him.

 Â You know, it's funny.  Some people have the nerve to say, "Well Barry never tested positive on a test, so maybe he really didn't use steroids."  Yeah, and O.J. Simpson never really murdered Ron Goldman and his wife Nicole.  Yeah, and Michael Jackson never really molested those kids either.  Come on people, crawl out from under that rock, pull your head out of the sand, pull your head from your ass, WAKE THE FUCK UP!!!  One way or another Bonds will be exposed for the fraud that he is.  

 Â You know, in a time not so long ago I remember getting completely caught up in the "Great Homerun Chase of 98."  It was great to be a baseball fan during that time, Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa.  Who was going get there first, the mutual respect between the two men, the drama and anticipation when the games came on, it was such great theater!  Then, reality finally hit me and all of America.  In those infamous Steroid Hearings on Capitol Hill, our great homerun heroes were revealed  for who they truly were....  Frauds.  Although, McGwire pleaded the fifth, and Sosa forgot to speak English on that day, we knew that one of sports greatest moments was one great big lie.

  Just like Bonds' "so-called" newfound glory as baseball's premiere homerun hitter.  It is one great big lie!  This is one lie I'm not getting caught up in.

 Â I'm done.  I don't care about Bonds, I don't care about the Bonds coverage.  To Bonds, and to the media that continues to make something out of nothing.  I got two words for ya...  SUCK IT!!!

There are at least 67 players in the league who have more than 7 home runs right now, including Curtis Granderson, Marcus Thames, Xavier Nady, Casey Blake, and Ty Wigginton.

Who cares about Bonds right now?  There are so many other people playing better baseball right now than a guy hitting .243 with 7 HR's.

this whole barry bonds .. steroids in baseball issue doesn't really bother me .. especially since the MLB didn't have a steroid policy when their players did steroids .. so now they're supposed to what .. retroactively apply the new rules to old infractions .. i'm sorry but it doesn't work that way .. bonds took steroids .. i'm not saying he didn't .. what i'm saying is.. so what?

who cares if the guys is hitting 7 hr with a .243 BA. He did something only one other player in ML history did, pass ruth. Big accomplishment regardless of what people may think

They did have a steroid policy.  They just never TESTED for steroids.  The policy has always been a blanket one covering all illegal drugs.  Steroids are illegal.
