I figured Kyle would be like Tom Gordon. Do great in the regular season and then collapse in October like he always does. Apparently, Kyle can't even make it to October. His ERA is now over 5 and his big moment against Ortiz can easily be explained, Ortiz was in a slump and less dangerous than Miguel Cairo at that point.

In baseball it's not about WHO you face as much as WHEN you face. Beginning of the year I would've rather pitched to Manny than Chris Shelton. Now, Chris Shelton is a trivia answer and Manny hates baseballs again.

He collapsed again last night and blew the 4 game sweep against supposedly the best team in baseball. He was closing because Mariano actually hurt his back tying his shoes. Yeah, tying his shoes. So, he will be out a few games. Unless he is DL bound he will pitch against Boston, although if he gives up 7 runs in 2/3 IP you know they rushed him back.

Well, that's my latest rant on the injuries of this team. I didn't even mention how Sheffield will miss most of the regular season now. Yeah, this is why we don't pick up a 38 year old's option in Spring Training ASSHOLE! We'll get you a Melky Cabrera jersey as a going away gift.

Dude, and you're surprised...He did this way back when he was a CUB...It didn't matter what time of the year it was...He'd look Awesome, for a week, dominating even, then for long stretches He would get scared to throw the ball to home plate,in fear of a lightning bolt would come down and strike him dead...(in short terms,he couldn't throw a strike to save his life)

It has Completely Amazed me people think he's this great pitcher...Yeah,He's got an Awsome fastball, and a 2 cent brain to go with it...

The Cubs tried him at closer...at times..he had 4 SV's in 24 SVO in 6 years in Chicago...

Sorry...I just find it funny....

Edge, I feel your pain buddy. I wanted to throw a shoe through the tv when he blew that save. I won't write him off yet, but it takes alot for me not to.

i felt the same way when B.J Ryan blew the save against the angels a few games back. B.J Ryan has been a huge disappointment for us. he was suppose to be flawless .

Of course it didn't help that zaun couldn't throw out the runner going to first base on a bunt. And the "oops the ball went under my glove" routine by Gold Glove Edgardo Alfonzo.

I figured in a setup role he would be fine until October. This guy can't keep it together for 10 minutes.

He has a stomach virus, and no doubt the rest of the team will catch it too.

I would say God is wearing a Red Sox hat, but I can't make that argument with Matt Clement being alive.

Well, Kyle didn't completely fold tonight, and my God was Jeter clutch. I'd trade a whole team for that guy.

Didn't Completely Fold? He was awesome. Cairo field it cleanly and it's a DP, but it was still a groundout. Next guy gets out and he pitches a perfect 9th. Torre yelled at him and told him to challenge the hitters more. He did tonight and it showed.

Not saying it will continue like this the rest of the way, but he was great tonight. Too bad he has pitched in 8 of the last 11 games and Proctor is already fatigued. You don't know how much you miss Mariano until he isn't there anymore.

You see, this is the problem with living out of market for Yankees games. Without  being able to watch on TV, all I see is that he gave up the lead in the 8th. I nearly vomited when I saw him come back out for the ninth after that. I need to pay closer attention...

The "blown save" rule can be dumb at times and tonight it was it. Farnsworth enters with bases loaded and one out. The Cairo bobble makes it a tie game and Farnsworth gets the blown save. It's really stupid.
