That's Brown in a nutshell... he's always been a nomadic coach but a card-carrying genius.  Everywhere he's gone, he's built a winner, and if given enough time, he could've done it in New York.  Unfortunately, Thomas, being the asshole he is, promised to get Brown players that would listen to him, but then realizing it would cost a lot of money, he told Dolan that it would be more cost efficient to just can Brown.  Dolan, being the idiot that he is, listened.

Brown is a Hall of Fame coach and should command respect.  Whiny jackoffs like Marbury have no place on Brown's teams.

I disagree. The Pistons were on the verge when they fired rick and hired him.

I hate basketball but I will watch this team.  No matter what you can't help but stare at a train wreck!

I don't watch the Knicks, I just follow the trainwreck. Every now & then I'll catch the last few minutes when they are down by 30.

Sadly, the Knicks will win about 30 games this year and Dolan will be convinced that Isiah is a great coach and give him an extension. Even when they stay at 30 wins the following 4 years. All for a measly $5 Million per win.

1997-  You beat half our team.... you know you would've lost if not for the fight that got 5 guys suspended.

1998-  Payback's a bitch aint it?  Your boy Mourning decides to get into fisticuffs and we take advantage of his absence in the final game.

Don't you think it's a little weak to use a suspension as an excuse and then as a praise in consecutive sentences?

I wouldn't personally gloat about Mourning, but there is no doubt the 1997 suspensions were ridiculous. Myabe the Heat would've won anyway, but NY had no chance in that game.

We'll if im GM of the knicks i turn in my resignation papers in now. lol.

Renaldo balkman at pick 20, he could've been had in the second round. They passed on marcus williams, who ironically was swooped up by the cross- town rival new jersey. If nothing more the williams pick would've secured the knicks some decent PR.

Balkman is a high energy guy, but has limited offensive skills. Even Davis stern, as much as he needs the new york market cant save this debacle of a franchise.

Yeah, that pick was so ridiculous the crowd didn't even boo because they didn't know who he was. The NBA media guide didn't even have him listed and he goes in the first round.

I would've liked to have had Adam Morrisson if we had our original pick. I would rather have a guy who takes the game to heart than some fat slob like Eddie Curry who doesn't even want to be in the NBA.

I would've snapped up Tyrus Thomas with the #2 pick.  He's a high energy guy who is definitely suited for power forward.   Plus that will give Channing Frye the opportunity to get more minutes at center where he is  better suited.

Back to the draft..... Balkman was a major mystery and ultimately, he's gonna end up being Thomas's undoing.  That guard from Temple is gonna turn out to be a nice pick, but regardless... the Knicks aren't gonna improve by more than 10 wins.  They have GOT to get rid of Marbury now.  If he keeps whining, he's gonna lose so much trade value that they won't be able to get a warm six pack for him.
