Title: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: dolphins4life on November 15, 2012, 11:33:50 pm Carpenter. I don't know what it will take for these coaches to get rid of this guy.
Honorable mention to the refs because the OPI call was garbage. Second Honorable mention to Tannehill because he played horrible. That missed open receiver really stands out in my mind. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: Pappy13 on November 15, 2012, 11:38:49 pm I can't decide between Bush, Long and Martin they all were HORRIBLE. I had Bess in here too until he pulled out a reception on that last drive that was actually a nice play and I'm forgetting about his TD catch which was really nice, but he's got to make an effort to try to break up that INT, he just watched the DB catch it and then avoided making contact with him. If I didn't know better I'd swear that was Ted Ginn Jr out there.
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: Tenshot13 on November 15, 2012, 11:43:01 pm How is it anyone but Nolan Carroll
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: Denver_Bronco on November 15, 2012, 11:45:09 pm The whole team blows....AGAIN...no shock there. Tannehill? Please.
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: Tenshot13 on November 15, 2012, 11:59:15 pm The whole team blows....AGAIN...no shock there. Tannehill? Please. Man, prisons are really lax on Internet access these days. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: mecadonzilla on November 16, 2012, 12:04:00 am While Nolan Carrol did suck balls, Tannehill tossed salad. He was missing receivers in every possible direction. Carrol did suck, but Tannehill gargled my anus.
I'm sure dumbasses want to blame Carpenter for missing a 50 yarder, but Tannie was on the field missing everyone, including Clay on an easy TD, throughout the game. This was a team loss for sure, but Tannehill was by far the worst player on a shitty, shitty team tonight. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: BigDaddyFin on November 16, 2012, 12:55:09 am Tannehill. He's gotta make more plays in the passing game.
Defense: Nolan Carroll. Clearly our secondary problems aren't going to get any better. Special teams: The punt return unit. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: Landshark on November 16, 2012, 06:51:45 am Mine goes to Mike Sherman. Against a shitty defense, this offense did not show up to play.
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: fyo on November 16, 2012, 07:08:13 am What didn't stink? Jones and Carroll set the tone of the game with some of the worst football I've seen in a long time. Jones at least started playing well towards the end of the first half, but Carroll just sucked throughout.
The offensive line was TERRIBLE. Martin, Jerry, and Incognito played some horrible ball. Defenders with their hands down were allowed to rush untouched. Martin couldn't stop my grandmother if she could make a simple swim move. Clay blew his assignment multiple times. Double-teamed defenders were being allowed free jumps in the air to try and get a hand on passes... What a crap-fest. Oh, and Tannehill was playing scared the whole game. Want to know how you f'k up your paying game? Keep the tight-end in to protect on every down, keep a back in as well. And still allow a defender to get nearly untouched to the quarterback. We're keeping so many guys in, there's no one to pass the ball to. The Bills could double every receiver and still get pressure on the quarterback. Ridiculous. I'm giving my shame ball to Carroll. But the competition for that thing is fierce. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: EKnight on November 16, 2012, 07:13:54 am "RT1." Been telling you all year. Tipped passes two games in a row. Can't win in the fourth AGAIN. A leopard doesn't change it's spots. -EK

The guys are no longer over-performing and the truth has come back to light. We do not have play makers. Even the offensive line, where he has been taking his safe picks, has not proven to be effective. I went in to the season thinking we were short a wide receiver or two, a tight end, a linebacker and defensive back but it is obvious we need much more than that. We need someone else to select some talent. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: Phishfan on November 16, 2012, 09:30:58 am I was only able to glance back and forth at the game due to my pool team commitments. I did however see Carroll get four penalties (does anyone know how many he was called for in total). This guy blows.
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: Brian Fein on November 16, 2012, 09:49:20 am Gotta go with Nolan Carroll but I don't fault people for blaming Tannehill. The guy consistently crumbles under pressure.
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: Cathal on November 16, 2012, 10:17:58 am Gotta go with Nolan Carroll but I don't fault people for blaming Tannehill. The guy consistently crumbles under pressure. I didn't see the game but from what everyone is saying, no matter how many people we have pass-blocking, rushers are getting to him consistently and we have no receivers that are real playmakers, and no rushing game to speak of. Did he crumble under pressure of the game or crumble because no one was blocking for him? Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: CF DolFan on November 16, 2012, 10:23:56 am I don't know how anyone can blame a defensive player. They gave up 4 field goals for 12 points. Can they play better? Absolutely, but they didn't lose the game.
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: bsfins on November 16, 2012, 10:41:25 am I agree with a lot of what FYO posted, and since I have to choose 1 person....I'm going to go with Joe Philbin.
The last two games, the whole team has played scared, like we're waiting for something bad to happen. Not enough "Us" making it happen... Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: fyo on November 16, 2012, 10:42:47 am Gotta go with Nolan Carroll but I don't fault people for blaming Tannehill. The guy consistently crumbles under pressure. Didn't Tannehill throw an interception in the EXACT same way as that last one? Long bomb to the a receiver sprinting down the left sideline beating his coverage, but the safety makes it all the way across for a driving catch. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: JVides on November 16, 2012, 10:44:26 am Didn't Tannehill throw an interception in the EXACT same way as that last one? Long bomb to the a receiver sprinting down the left sideline beating his coverage, but the safety makes it all the way across for a driving catch. I don't fault Tannehill for that pick. The safety made an incredible play. That should have by all rights been an incompletion. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: Jim Gray on November 16, 2012, 11:08:25 am There are a lot of players to choose from, but I'm going with someone from the offensive line. I know Martin is a rookie, but he looked terrible all night. He played most of the game on his back. At 315 pounds, if he just leans forward, wouldn't he be tough to move? It's been a long time since I've since someone beaten so badly, so often. His poor play was often the reason Tannehill had no time, and there were no holes for Bush and Thomas.
Honorable mentions -Tannehill. He looked bad all night. On the few occasions when he had time, he was indecisive and missed open receivers. That miss across the middle made me cringe. You have to hit that. -Nolan Carroll. He really shouldn't be on the field - Carpenter. Yet another miss that could have changed the way we played the final drive CF is right about the talent level lacking. Lot's of places where we need to upgrade to be competitive. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on November 16, 2012, 11:49:48 am Hard to pick one in the all around suck fest I watched last night.....but I am giving mine to Carroll. He was downright shitty last night and he kept multiple drives going with his complete fuckery.
I am not sure why this kid stil has a job!!!!!! Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: mecadonzilla on November 16, 2012, 11:56:08 am I am not sure why this kid stil has a job!!!!!! Because he's still the 2nd best corner on the team. *shudder* Ugh, it hurt to write that sentence. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: Landshark on November 16, 2012, 12:05:03 pm Because he's still the 2nd best corner on the team. *shudder* Ugh, it hurt to write that sentence. And that falls on Ireland's shoulders and no one else. It isn't Philbin's fault that Ireland and Parcells were so fixated on offensive linemen, linebackers, and running backs. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: Sunstroke on November 16, 2012, 12:19:06 pm And that falls on Ireland's shoulders and no one else... Give him his walking papers, Professor... Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: Phishfan on November 16, 2012, 12:58:14 pm I don't know how anyone can blame a defensive player. Because Nolan Carrol is a walking pass interference penalty. Only being able to look back and forth at the TV, he was getting beat up every time I looked up it seemed. The offense was hardly on the field long enough for me to see the mistakes. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: Phishfan on November 16, 2012, 12:59:41 pm Give him his walking papers, Professor... Nice Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: CF DolFan on November 16, 2012, 01:19:12 pm Because Nolan Carrol is a walking pass interference penalty. Only being able to look back and forth at the TV, he was getting beat up every time I looked up it seemed. The offense was hardly on the field long enough for me to see the mistakes. They scored 12 freaking points on the D and didn't give up a TD even on the turnovers. That's good enough for most teams to win. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: Dave Gray on November 16, 2012, 01:20:20 pm They scored 12 freaking points on the D and didn't give up a TD even on the turnovers. That's good enough for most teams to win. Yes, but we're not talking about the defensive unit. We're talking one player. Carroll was awful. He had many chances to make plays and ended up with interference penalties each time. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: Landshark on November 16, 2012, 02:03:39 pm Give him his walking papers, Professor... More like I'll give him a resounding "F" in need addressing and talent evaluation. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: dolphins4life on November 16, 2012, 10:23:52 pm Was it a 50 yard attempt Carpenter missed? My memory seems to think it was shorter. Then again, I was watching the game while battling a huge stomachache for overeating. That didn't compare to the stomachache I had after the game.
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: Spider-Dan on November 17, 2012, 02:42:36 am Yes, but we're not talking about the defensive unit. We're talking one player. Carroll was awful. He had many chances to make plays and ended up with interference penalties each time. What about the offensive linemen or running backs who were completely ineffective against literally the worst run defense in the league? Daniel Thomas had 33 yards on 12 carries and Bush had 20 yards on 10 carries. Against the worst run defense in the league, mind you.Even with all of Carroll's problems, the defense held BUF scoreless in the second-half and gave up only field goals in the first half. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: fyo on November 17, 2012, 04:28:55 am ^^^ Clay letting a defender in three point stance run right by him untouched to hit Bush 10 yards in the backfield almost before he got the hand-off... that's the kind of mistake that kills a drive and could easily have resulted in a turnover.
There are so many viable shame candidates this game it's sad. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - Bills Post by: masterfins on November 18, 2012, 10:16:59 pm Hartline. Coughed up the ball, and can never get open. He has 2 good games a year (already had one of them this year against Arizona, which was a loss). I'm sorry but the guy just sucks year after year. At best he's a #3 receiver. The guy has ONE TD reception all year. You can't blame Tannehill if the receivers aren't getting open.
HM to the refs, they were terrible. Completely one-sided. |
