'72 - The Perfect Season

There's a poll on the Dolphins website asking fans to vote for the QB they would like to see as our starter.  With 1300 votes in, here are the results so far

Pennington - 60%
Henne - 28%
Beck - 11%
McCown - 2%

(yes, I know this adds up to more than 100% -  send your complaints to the Dolphins)

I'm shocked to see Beck get 11% of the vote.  Over 130 people feel that Beck shoud be the starter?  He can't have that many family members voting for him, can he?  Since this is the official Dolphins website, you have to believe that McCown is seeing this.  Wonder what he thinks about his 2% fan support.

I'm actually surprised that Henne didn't get more.  ...not that I would've picked him, but the rookie QB is always popular with fans, especially after he looked the best in the preseason game.

And the Pennington reception was kinda lukewarm.  I am surprised that so many are picking him.

Fans are very fickeled.  It only takes one performance to send you on your way to idolship or down public enemy number one and back again.

Jaws was going on last night about how it takes a couple of years for a QB to sit and watch before he is ready.  QBs. He said even then it takes a year or so to actually see what kind of QB you have.  He thinks the Aarron Rodgers situation is perfect for a QB.  It amazes me how popular this theory is and yet most people refuse to follow it mainly because of whining fans.

Exactly.  I was expecting, after Henne's good performance, that the fans would be calling for him already.
