^^^ Yes, the Yankees spend a lot of money, much of it wasted.  However, they have probably the best minor league system.  The Mets have spent a ton of money over the last decade and they still stink.

This is why I hate NY sports fans, despite being one. Because they forget about things like this. Without A-Rod, I don't think NY beats Minnesota in the 2009 ALDS, let alone wins the World Series.

They want Cano and Granderson and Swisher and A-Rod gone like this is the NFL and they can just be cut. Cano deserves the beating he received in the media for his historically awful play in the postseason, but good luck finding a 2B who averages .300/30/100 while playing good defense.
