The Dolphins sign WR Courtney Gardner

This guy has a lot of off the field issues, I am a little surprised the Fins took a chance on him.

Chad Pennington is at Fins OTA today helping out.

New assistant coach maybe?

That would not surprise me from what I understand he is smart and wants to move into coaching.

I'd love to see Pennington get his coaching start with Miami. Like phinphan, everything I've heard about Pennington leads me to believe he is an extremely intelligent person, and he's always impressed me as someone who was a good leader. Give him an "assistant to the assistant" type of position to start, and see if he can use his football knowledge to benefit the organization.

I guess after last year and his stint helping Mark Sanchez in the offseason he gave up on that and figures he is a lost cause...lol

Assistant to the Assistant (aka Coaching Intern) would be Pennington's role. Like what Al Harris was doing last year in Miami

I am 99.9 percent sure witch means I don't know. But he was brought in to mentor Heene and move into a coaching spot. But he had that break out season best in his career. I forgave him for being a jet.I am all for giving this guy a job .But if my memory is right he was going to coach for us back then he just had that great year and I don't blame him for trying to play after what he did for us.It's a shame he got hurt.Coach Pennington Hmmmm works for me.Oh and I mean a real position not assistant to an assistant. And like I said he was already hired for that. Tony said he would move into a QB coach position when he handed the reins over.If I remember correctly.

But that could have been a job interview.

It wasn't according to Philbin. He killed all speculation about this.

Said look for other retired players to be visiting in the future as well to share their knowledge with the current team

Sprano was the one making him a coach And I am not taking anything away from Pennington I think he may have what it takes to coach I don't know? It sucks when there is no foot ball.

That's too bad that it was only a one day dilly-o. Hopefully Tannehill sponged up everything Penny could give him and uses it to ratchet up his game savvy a notch or two.
