For those of you who don't know.  She is a California senator who is 89 years old.  She is severely mentally compromised, has been out sick for a while, recently came back, but is combative and arguing that she hasn't missed any votes because she seemingly has horrible dementia.  ...and not the kind of dementia levied at political opponents, but the real kind where this woman needs constant care in a facility.   I feel sorry for her.

This woman reminds me of my Dad when he had late stage brain issues.

I am angry about this on multiple levels.  Firstly, Feinstein herself -- she should've stepped aside AT LEAST 19 years ago.  I still think 70 is too old to run for re-election.  Whatever the retirement age of the country is, these people should retire.

But at some point, you can't blame Feinstein.  At first it's her fault, but now, she's too crazy to know she's crazy.  This is on a party that didn't force her out for two decades and instead bring someone in from the bullpen.

I blame her family, though it's possible they've been fighting to get her out and she's combative.  My dad certainly was and he had no advocates except for us.

And lastly, I blame any remaining politicians who defend her presence.  It sucks, because at this point, what can you even do but ride it out.  It's not like they can make her leave....shit.  This is so far past what is acceptable.  None of us will be the top dog at our jobs at 89 years old....what are we even doing here?  This has gone on AT LEAST 3 election cycles too long.

Can't she be voted out for various reasons? I think there is a process, just like in Tennessee recently, where the others can vote her out but it won't happen. Much like NFL owners not removing a peer ... other politicians don't want to set themselves up for removal so they won't do it.

Just curious. How do you see the mental capabilities of Biden? I get that I get fed his constant mental breakdowns because of where I stand but surely you are seeing some too?

Getting offended by something you see on the internet is like choosing to step in dog shite instead of walking around it.

I think that she can probably get voted out be her peers, but as you say 1) it won't happen, but 2) it doesn't even make sense because you can't replace her fast enough in order to get done what you need to get done.  You just gotta wheel a crazy person out there and have her approve your judges.

As for Biden, he wasn't my first, second or third choice going into the race.   I think, again, it's a failure of the system that a majority of the viable candidates are super old people.  As for Biden himself, I don't find him mentally unfit in terms of dementia or being crazy.  But he's certainly old and less sharp like any old person.  Feinstein literally has late stage dementia, IM(non medical)O.  Again, though, the Biden problem is something 20 years in the making.  Democrats needed a better bullpen.  I am happy with the actual legislation and message from the Biden campaign -- whether it's him pushing the agenda or staffers, I can't say.  And even though the President is a bigger stage, being a senator is even more important in terms of literally showing up.  You can't have your staff vote for you.  You gotta get there.  Similarly, there's really nothing that can be done -- primarying your own party would get you trounced in an election, so I'm firmly in the camp to support Biden, even if a younger, better Dem were to run against him.  Also, Biden's weakpoint is his speech to begin with, so I get a little nervous every time he talks.
