I've known about this for a little while now, so I decided to post a thread to get your guys thoughts on this great idea to make the last game of the season a divisional game!

I think it is a great idea.

In fact for years I have been saying that the last three weeks should be division only games.

Less teams clinch early and there will be more teams in the hunt later.  Plus it will be much less likely teams will back into the playoffs, so the teams in the playoffs are more likely to be the teams that were hot in Dec instead of the teams that were hot in Sept/Oct and then declined.

I'm cool with it.  It will stretch the relevance of the season and cut down on teams resting their players.

Yeah I agree.  It makes those crucial late season games more fair and alot more meaningful, too.  It makes perfect sense!!!  For example, the Colts laying down to the Jets last year as we battled Houston and Pittsburgh for the wildcard spot.  I think they should even make the last three games divisional matchups to force teams to step up that much more, therefore resting players wouldn't even be an option.

It's all well and good until a team fattens up on garbage opponents for the last 3 weeks.

Unlike, say, San Diego, we're in a division composed of teams with a pulse.  This change is NOT good for MIA.

I think that it is good for Miami fans.  It keeps us "in it" even if we may not really be in it.

week 17 NE plays MIA.  I suspect it will count for something.  Might be for the title.  One team might be playing spoiler.  But it will probably count for something.
