2011 NFC East Champions!

« on: October 10, 2011, 10:24:17 am »

That is the 12PM Thanksgiving Day Game.

WOW.

I'm not saying that both teams will come in 10-0 (however that would only add to the awesomeness that this game is already shaping itself up to be), but MAN - this is going to be an all-out offensive show on Thanksgiving Thursday.

I'm already excited about this contest and we just got through week 5 - this game is on Week 12 of the season.

2011 NFC East Champions!

As of right now, the Packers, the Lions, and the 49ers have the most Net Points in the NFC, and only the Ravens have more Net Points than any of those teams. This means that not only are the Lions and Packers putting up points (135 and 173, respectively, not counting tonight's MNF game with the Lions and Bears), but they're also not getting too badly scorched on defense (they're allowing some points but their offenses are so good that it doesn't even matter).

In the NFC, only the Saints can match the offensive point production with 157 - which the Lions may equal or pass very easily tonight.

The 49ers have the best point differential in the NFL...and are the only team in the NFL with a 2 game lead in their division. If anyone ever downplays the effect that a quality head coach can have on a football team, point them directly to Harbaugh and the Niners for evidence to the contrary.

Lions-Packers on Turkey day? That sounds like a seven course football feast to me...can't wait!!

And the Packers v. Lions Game is just the opening act for the premier game of the day...Cowboys v. Dolphins!! Grin

Thank the Lord.  It's about time that Detroit was worth watching, taking up a Thanksgiving Day slot.

Think the Lions might lose tonight...haven't looked great the last few weeks, despite the comeback in Dallas.

^^^ Detroit looked pretty good to me last night...their defensive front seven is just scary good at penetrating the pocket, and they have enough versatility and big play capability on offense that I think they can score on pretty much anyone.
