I can't really see us winning or covering a spread until we can get an offense that can score.

I will be rooting for ya.  (Only once in my life have I rooted for the Jets).  But I think the Jets are the better team and will win.

I have to confess... My 6-0 Survivor entry has picked the Jets as my team for the week.

Sorry

Funny enough, part of me thinks we're a good chance this week.

Hafley sent a strong message to the team cutting Patterson and Duck (if you can't follow the Coach's instructions, or haven't taken the field for over a season, someone else will replace you).

If Caleb Douglas comes back into the team, that will gives us an added boost on offense (although we still should go in with a run-heavy plan)

Finally, our defense will line up against Geno Smith, who last season managed to save Tua the embarrassment of leading the league in interceptions. Our young secondary is raw, but if there is one thing they have shown already, it's their willingness to sniff out an INT. After two weeks of planning, if our defensive front shows up (for once) there's the potential for these guys to have real good game.

Fins - 20
Jets - 7

Haley sent a strong message to the team

Do you think the core problem with the team is a lack of motivation and not a lack of talent?

The team had enough talent to beat the Jets.

If it wasn't for the mistakes, they probably had enough to beat the Vikings too.

Those same kind of mistakes put them way behind the 8-ball against the Bengals, and every time they made up some ground, another self-inflicted blunder lost it again.

The rookies have showed real promise this year, and you can wear their mistakes and growing pains. But the list is thin, and the veterans need to step up and lead them.

Hafley played this brilliantly. He called out Patterson for not doing what he asked him to, and fired him before the bye week, which sent a message and allowed the special teams two weeks to plan with a new kicker.

It was a low-risk move that came with a high reward. This team needs to minimize its mistakes to give itself a chance to win. The self inflicted errors against the Vikings & Bengals weren't there this week, and the team hit paydirt. Sure, a lot needs to go right, but even this squad has the talent to be competitive.

I'm just glad that the team won a game so I can relax.

The 2007 NFL season was the most stressful thing I've ever experienced as a fan - on both ends of the 0-x and x-0 spectrum - and I don't want to have to go through that again.

Agreed on all counts.  Monkey off our back.

I also like that this appears to be a team that just isn't good, and that's ok -- but they still look like they're trying, we're good enough to run an offense and evaluate guys.  You can see bright spots.  We can run for 1 yard finally.  There's things to enjoy.  It's just not winning that's one of them.
