All this talk about Houston drafting Young appears to be over. Carr just got a contract extension today. Details have not been released.

I don't see this as being a door-closer for trade possibilities. It likely makes him even more tradeable because he's locked in to a contract. Sign and trade, baby...sign and trade.

Vince is going full-force on the PR between now and the draft...the dude is on camera everywhere. I still think he'll wear down McNair and convince the Texans to draft him by April.  Grin

I just read the deal. Houston used a buy back option. That means they gave him the $8M bonus and have him signed for three additional years at base salaries of $5.25M 2006 & 2007 and $6M in 2008. That does not sound like a sign & trade deal to me.

I agree.  No one is going to take a contract that high.  Looks like they're gonna stick with him as their franchise QB and get him some O-Line help.
