Capcom Bracket

Doom 2: Hell on Earth (1994, PC)
GT Interactive

Originally released for the IBM PC, Doom 2: Hell on Earth won the “Origins Award” for Best Fantasy or Science Fiction Computer Game of 1994.  A first-person shooter, you take control of a Marine who is back home on Earth, only to find that the planet has been taken over by Hell.  Your mission – save the planet, at all costs.

VS.

Everquest (1999, PC)
Sony Online Entertainment

One of the first MMORPG’s, Everquest took computer savants by storm with its unmatched game depth, character development, and online play.  Over 400 zones, and anywhere from 1,000 to 3,000 players at a time on a server made EverQuest an icon in gaming history.  Many patches, updates, and an EverQuest 2 in 2004 have been released.  The game is still played by millions across the globe, including Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Shilling.

The original Wolfenstein was pretty sweet, but Doom combined it with a darker atmosphere and scary monsters.  That game was awesome, and it was the first time I ever played with networked computers or over a modem.

Everquest just isn't my bag, baby.

This was the hardest vote for because I have played both for many, many, many hours....

Yes, I voted for Everquest, simply because there is more in depth game play.
