Dolfans invade the Meadowlands for Jets pounding

Last Sunday, thanks to the careful plotting of DolfansNYC, MetLife Stadium was crawling with Dolphins' fans, including several TDMMC members.

I've been to road games before, but never like this. Never accompanied by nearly 300 other Dolphins' fans. And the Jets fans were strangely accommodating. Any legendary fear of walking into their stadium in the opposing team's jersey melted away the moment we disembarked the bus.

After a few hours of a great tailgate, complete with appearances by Stephen Ross, Mike Dee, and Fergie (with cheerleaders in tow), the horde of visiting fans descended upon MetLife stadium, sat amongst the enemy, and screamed our asses off. We had seats in the nosebleeds, end zone, up high, but they were the best seats in the house. Our section was crazy, with "Let's Go Dolphins" chants, along with the standby "J-E-T-S SUCK SUCK SUCK" echoing throughout the stadium all game long.

The Dolphins excelled from the starting whistle, shutting down Fat Rex's team in all three aspects of the game. Even Fireman Ed's traditional opening kickoff chant was a little off that day. And the stadium was empty by the final gun. Except for the aqua-and-orange fools in the upper deck. We couldn't have asked for a better outcome.

With such an emotional game and an extreme high coming off this complete team victory, we can only hope the team carries this momentum into Indianapolis this weekend to face Andrew Luck and the Colts. The Dolphins appear to be the favorite on paper, but I wonder if they spent all their heart on that Jets game last Sunday.

The Dolphins head into the easiest stretch of their schedule, with their next 4 opponents boasting a less-than-impressive 11-16 combined record. If the Dolphins can pull off a chunk of these "should-win" games, it would put them in a great position to head into the final weeks of the season, fighting for an AFC wild-card birth.
