I didnt have a prediction for games won this year for the fins. I was of the mind set that it didnt matter. I believed this was the first of a few rebuilding years. I expected a few wins.

I find myself shocked that I was so wrong. If Brett Favre didnt complete that lucky hail marry duck in the first game the fins would be 3 and 1 right now. This is Sporanos and Parcells team now and it shows. These guys are having fun out there which is a far cry from what has been seen in years.

I truely believe that Jimmy Johnson destroyed this team with all the negativity and the ego that came with him. Even after he left his ghost was still around with Dave Wanstad. Obviously Nick Saban and Cam Cameron just were around for a blink of an eye. This team now has a sense of identity with Parcells and Sporano.

As much as I loved JT and Thomas it was the right thing to do. The new guard wanted a new way of thinking in the locker room. they have these guys believing that they can win and they are. Beating two damn good teams back to back isnt luck. These guys are for real.

Welcome to the site Bro!  That said I gotta disagree on Jimmy Johnson. He gave us a Team that took us to the Playoffs and was really just a few pieces short of the whole deal. What a great defense he built us!  He did screw us royally by suggesting Dave Wannabe , but it was Wayne Huizenga who not only kept him employed...........he gave the POS an extension! We all know how Saban turned out, but he really was the best prospect out there. Gotta give Wayne credit for going after him the way he did.   Cam Cameron? Ouch. That one hurt . Wayne couldn't have taken a bigger shit if he ate off of one of those Mexican street cart vendors. Thankfully he finally realized you can't interview for this job like you do one of his branch managers. You gotta know the game to know who has it and who doesn't. Bill Parcells is one of those people.  Don't kid yourself..........Jimmy Johnson was as well until he lost the fire. If Jimmy hadn't had the mid life crisis we would have had a Superbowl by 2001 , maybe even with Dan Marino.   If Johnson had hit on just 1 runningback like shanahan and the Broncos did on Terrell Davis in the 6th round.........Marino might have had that ring instead of Elway.

Whatever happened after the Cardinals game worked. This isn't the same team from weeks 1 and 2. They're playing with confidence, fire, and determination. I love it. Believer? Hell yeah!

Defense you are a cool dude who I usually agree with, but Dynamite is correct. Sure Jimmy brought in great players but he brought alot of garbage with him that haunted this team for what seems like forever. Jimmy started the domino effect in Miami, so I believe if Shula wasn't forced out we may have a Superbowl in those years when we had a great team.

I'm a hopeless optimist.  I voeted I always believe.  I'm ashamed to say it, but I believed in Jimmy, in Wanny, in Saban, and in Cameron.

I have friends who laugh at me. . . .

I am assuming you are in Canada so welcome aboard. But you were optomistic about Cameron even after being 0-10 ?
Are in the mountains in Canada where there may be some thin air?(only kidding)
Definately welcome we need more optomistic fans on the board. Personally Defense won me over before the Patriots game. It's time to leave our bitter feelings in the past and start adopting that winning attitude again.

I am pleasantly surprised. I was talking to a guy last night and he was saying how "conditioned" he has become to seeing the Dolphins do badly. Houston is very winable so it needs to get done. A let down in that game will set this team backwards.

If the Dolphins go into Houston and kick the living rap out of them, I will believe.  I am hopeful and optimistic now, but I am worried that its the same old "play to the level of your opponent" type of play we've seen from the Fins in the past.

I wanna see us beat Houston by 30+ and then I'll be on the bandwagon.

Besides Dave Wannabe what other garbage was he resonsible for?  He didn't keep him around 5 years that was all Wayne.  We were very competive when Jimmy Johnson coached this team and years after from the players he brought in.   We are STILL profiting from Jimmy Johnson 8 years later with a nice 2nd rounder for next years draft for Jason Taylor. He had us on the right track.  This team did no worse in the 3 years JJ was the head coach then the last 10 years of the Shula era.

Defense, I see where you are coming from with Jimmy's defense. but this is where I think he messed up.

-Jimmy Johnson came into Miami strutting around like he was the secong coming. He bashed Shula every which way he could in a very disprespectful way which I am sure ruffled some feathers with in the team......

-He brought in 4 gems in four whole years, so did a lot of teams. Most of his other picks were busts.

-He built up the defense but destroyed the offence. We had a God awful receiving group when Jimmy was here. He did nothing to give Marino weapons. The running game was worse off then when with Shula which is amazing since Jimmy was all about running the ball... When running didnt work for three quarters he would  then call on Marino after bashing him all week long to the media to pull them out.

-Kippy Brown said Jimmy was unbearable to be around when with the Dolphins. If they lost you couldnt speak to him and when they won it was never good enough. Kippy, said that Jimmy once said" We beat the bills, big deal. I won two super bowls".... Not exactly team building material if you ask me.

-Marino was the face of the Dolphins and jimmy couldnt handle that since he is such an egomaniac. He bashed Marino any way he could to the media. If Marino broke a record or pulled a game out of his ass  Jimmy would just shrug his shoulders. If Marino had an average game then he would blast him with thinnly veiled attacks.

-He NEVER EVER accepted that he messed up. He would either blame Shula, Marino, his mothers passing, injuries, or his bad hair, or blah blah blah........ After their first year going 8-8 Jimmy had the balls to stand up there and say "THIS ISNT MY TEAM". He basically said this team sucks and I didnt put it together. Not exactly team building materal if you ask me. After the second season when they went 9-7 Jimmy blamed injuries. The third season it was burn out and his mom died. The fourth season he just ran out of town since he couldnt fool the fans anymore.

I admit that I was a jimmy fan when he came into town. I wanted him here but he was a huge mistake in hind sight.... He brought us a great defense but he also tore down the offense to nothing. He brought a lot of negativity to the team by openly bashing the dolphins past, a former coach, current players, and their leader in Marino. He basically castrated his star player who was the Dolphins leader.

All in all Shula's team in his final fours years was better that Johnsons Dolphins in his four years.

Parcells was the best thing that ever happened to this team. He gave this team the enema it needed.

I also voted" I want to believe, but I need to see more "   Even though Miami had 2 very convincing wins  but the 2 lossese at the beginning  still burns that they can fuk it up  anytime.   A win  at Houston and Baltimore will say thay are 4 real.

It always seemed to me that proving Jerry Jones wrong and winning with his schemes were more important to him than building a good football team.  The Dolphins were what the Cowboys would have looked like if it hadn't been for the Herschel Walker rip-off of the Vikings trade.
