Penny....once a Jet, always a stinkin' Jet.  Way to take that safety buddy!

He was still in the pocket, so would have gotten an intentional grounding penalty, or else he risked throwing a pick 6 if he tried to get it to someone.  Obviously, there was no one open so he took the only option, take the sack and hang on to the ball.

I concur.  Even the safety he took was less of a problem than the punt return.  The Raiders have a halfway decent defense when they feel like playing.

^^

He had almost two whole seconds to get rid of the ball...although that is still not much time, it should be enough to get rid of the ball when you're backed up on your own goal line...he had a running back coming off of a block when he was getting pressured, so he could have at least thrown it at the RB's feet...it's just as much the play callers fault as is Penny's, and I'm really glad he didn't throw an INT, but other than the special teams playing like shit, this was one of the worst parts of the game.  Blame the O-line as well, but you have to expect the other team to bring the house when your backed up like that.

If special teams are getting SOTG every week, isn't there a point where they're not really the shame of the game, they're just performing as normal, surely there is a more inventive choice for SOTG?

Nick Saban?  Yeah Saban, it must be his fault, no one has blamed him for a while Smiley

No they are getting progressivly WORSE. It used to be missed tackles and field posistion we were giving up.  Now its Goddamned 90 yd. touchdown runs. SOTG. And that stands for SHIT of the Game as far as I'm concerned.

Your knowledge about football makes me feel funny.

I don't suppose you could give Mrs. Maine lessons?  Wink
