Once again, special teams coach John Bonamego. Special teams have been atrocious all season, and this week damn near blew the game.

We know special teams is bad. It's bad every week. You can blame the coach, and to some extent I do, but at the end of the day, our players on special teams - as a whole - are HORRIBLE.

You can't make chicken soup out of chicken shit, as the saying goes.

My shame of the game is Sparano for being stupid and/or cowardly in punting on 4th and 4 on Oakland's 34. Kick the figgie or try to convert. Punting in that situation is incredibly stupid. It's not the "safe" choice, by any means. It's just a bad, bad decision.

I'm giving my Shame of the Game to special teams coach John Bonamego.  Again, they allowed a punt return for a TD that put the other team in position to win the game.

Honorable mention to Chad Pennington for tucking the ball three times to get sacked, including once for a safety, and to Ronnie Brown for fumbling after a long run that led to Oakland's first points.  That turned the game in a whole new direction.

Here's one that a little different- Vernon Carey. It seemed like most of the pressure on Pennington came from the right side (including the sack for the safety). Anytime the pocket collapsed, the pressure was from the right.

Good point, Philly.

And this is Carey's big year before he becomes a free agent. I think today's game may cost him in the free agency  bidding. If he demands a huge contract, it may be bye bye Vernon.

Vernon is playing himself right out of a contract.  Luckily, the draft is pretty deep with OT's this year.

Can't say that enough ...........as well as the officiating Team. They are either really bad or are purposly giving terrible teams breaks where they can.  Just god awful. I saw it first hand in person and couldn't believe they called what they did.  Angry

Special teams.  there were really only three nominees as far as shitty plays the whole game for us.

Ronnie Brown's fumble in Oakland territory before halftime.

55 yard pass interference penalty on the ensuing possession

93 yard punt return for a touchdown that gave Oakland a lead they never really deserved.

It has to be the punt return.  The first two compounded in the Raiders getting only a field goal.
