I don't think you want Haslem at Center in the 4th quarter.  I think he'll be 3rd in the center rotation, and probably only used in foul-trouble situations or if you're playing a certain favorable matchup.

I think that Haslem will be a valuable power forward behind Bosh, that can also hit open jumpers from 15 feet.

The key here is to not keep all three superstars on the court at once.  Stagger them to always have go-to scorers on the court.

Well, remember that I'm talking 4th quarter here; the last 6 minutes.  All 3 (Wade, James, Bosh) will undoubtedly be on the floor at the same time if the game is close (barring foul trouble).  I'm not going to have Big Z out there at this point, since he's not much of a defender or rebounder at this point in his career.  If I'm Spoelstra, I want the other team to get one shot at the basket only, so I put Haslem out there to clean up the glass.  Shot blocking is fun, but it's over-rated as a defensive skill.  I'll take rebounding every time.  This is, of course, all subject to future Heat additions.

I think that this might not happen, though.

From a PR standpoint, you have to have your superstars on the court at the end, but in most cases, in a close game, you want your best defenders in the game, and then a go-to scorer.  I think that Lebron and Wade will stay in to take shots and you might be better off to have a better defender in the game than Bosh.

In a normal team circumstance, you're right, on a team where you need Bosh's scoring ability down the stretch, but on the new HEAT, I don't think you do.

what makes total sense if you look at this whole lebron fiasco, is in lebron totally redefining the modern point guard position.

lebron is magic, but better... he never was going to be the next jordan. dewayne is more like mj than lebron. lebron will run the point, and exploit the host of matchup problems teams will have in defending this offense.

you gotta think that riles sold lbj on the fact that this can be the modern era "showtime" in miami with him playing the magic role.

between players officially signed and players already agreed to terms miami now has the following roster:

Mario Chalmers
Carlos Arroyo
Dwyane Wade
James Jones
LeBron James
Mike Miller
Udonis Haslem
Chris Bosh
Juwan Howard
Jamaal Maglore
Zydrunas Ilgauskas
Joel Anthony
Dexter Pittman

i bolded my guess as to the starting lineup, and italicized who i think will be the top 3 backups to form an 8 player playoff rotation.

that's 2 slots out of 15 left open

reports are that 1 of the open spots is going to another PG (jason williams maybe)
and that the 2nd spot is going to a development player

hell out of those players, miami could field 2 entire playoff caliber starting lineups

and personally i would love to see a dexter pittman vs. glen davis matchup .. i think it'd be hilarious

what i'm most interested in seeing with that lineup above is what happens when wade takes a rest, miller comes in, moves to the 3, chalmers moves to the 2 and lebron playing the 1 spot .. i think that he's got magic type potential

is it basketball season yet?

lebron is magic, but better...

Lebron doesn't play point, even when they run the offense through him. This is a terrible example. Magic was a pont guard and Lebron is just a guy they are giving the ball to in iorder to start the offense. Lebron is not half the passer Magic was ever. He is nowhere close to being a point guard.
