Testing the theory that skill players are the only thing that matters....and they found out it doesn't work.

We did not go 8-9 because Tua missed some games. Miami was 6-5 even when Tua was healthy. Get him some offensive and defensive line help and Miami will be better with or without Tua.

^^^^

This is a common concept that has withstood the test of time.   The game is won and lost in the trenches.

When you have a top five draft pick and draft your franchise QB, your next pick should not be the sexy stud WR, but the big bruising OT that can stand people up and has a mentality of "You want a piece of my QB??   Not if I have anything to say about it!!"

MIA had that OT and traded him away.
We all applauded wildly.

That isn't what has held us back as we have had decent LTs since then. Armstead is one of the best ever. Hopefully that continues with the new guy. The fact they have not been able to solve the trenches overall is what has held us back. We've plenty of skill players who can't get to use it because our lines are weak.

You can't be blamed at all. We really had no choice but to address the loss of quality beef in the trenches first and foremost, even Grier saw that.

If it doesn't work out, we all can guess that it's because Grier picked the wrong options again... that said, the first two picks this draft look promising with little risk.
