I didn't have HBO last August so I didn't get a chance to watch any of the Hard Knocks episodes last year, but I saw a link yesterday and watched the first 4 episodes back to back last night. I really enjoyed the whole thing. If you haven't had a chance to watch them yet, I suggest you check it out.

Couple of observations:
- The tone of camp really changes as it goes on from class clown CJ and rookie hazings being the show in the beginning to the seriousness of Garrard's injury and the first round of cuts in episode 4.
- I had forgotten that Tannehill was a hold out for the first 3 days of camp which makes his rise to starter for game 1 even more impressive in hindsight.
- Wondering whatever happened to Les Brown. Did he give up on a career in the NFL or still trying to make it on a team?
- I'm even more impressed with Philbin after watching this. He just always looks so in control of everything and I love the subtle way that he gets his point across without seeming preachy. I noticed that when he brought in Tannehill to give him the news that he was gonna be the starter that first he notices that the rookies shoes are untied and lets him know and then tells him how there's gonna be all this hoopla about him being named the starter and how he needs to handle it.
- I got a much better appreciation for the job the position coaches do. Philbin and Sherman get all the credit, but the position coaches are really the ones that prepare the players day in and day out.

It was a great time, watching from week to week and getting to follow some of the lesser known guys.  I'm not sure if you're there yet, but (spoilers) there is a leaders meeting where a few of the guys come in to talk about their displeasure with the way that Philbin handled the Ocho-Cinco situation without their consultation.  Philbin treats them very respectfully.  Interestingly enough, ever person in that leaders meeting is now off the team, one season later.

I would watch this again.  I loved this show more than I thought possible.  Its unhealthy, really.  Five episodes is not enough.  I'd love to see this continue on through the season.

It's a great show. No team has signed up for it this year which is disappointing. I am sure someone will do it for attention. Maybe Jax again or I could see a team like Buffalo who needs to just re-brand the whole city and franchise really. Anyone who thinks this show is a huge distraction is nuts. OR that teams give away too much info. It's a show that mainly follows the head coach and a bunch of scrubs who are battling for the final roster spots.

Most of the "big name" guys are only on for a few min here and there in reality.

I'm there with you. I get a kick out of the behind the scenes aspects of pro sports.

I watched episode 5 last night and I loved when it showed Ryan and Lauren Tannehill putting together a little night stand. When they finish, the drawer doesn't open and close properly. Somehow just knowing that the Tannehill's have the exact same problems that my wife and I do makes me feel better about myself. Smiley

DISLIKE BUTTON.  The only parts worth watching will be when Zimmer blows his stack.

Just finished the second episode.  Very disappointed to see a guy like Roberto Wallace flame out like he did.  The saddest thing in life is wasted talent.
