That was going to be my vote for worst movie ... I promise.

My favorite movie was Silence of the Lambs. It really shouldn't be but it is.

No freaking way I do this one for one.

Best five movies ever (and yes, I'm going to wuss out and include sequels and trilogies as one movie):

1:  Lord of the Rings trilogy
2:  Breakfast Club
3:  Fargo
4:  Training Day
5:  Love, Actually

*Honorable mentions go to Field of Dreams, Running Scared, Fight Club and Independence Day.

Worst five movies I wish my eyes had never witnessed:

1:  Borat
2:  Drumline
3:  American Pie 3
4:  Rent*
5:  Phantom of the Opera*

I LOVE broadway and these are two of my favorite shows ever.  Some musicals do okay on the big screen (Chicago wasn't horrible).  These two were embarrassing.

It's hard to pick a best and worst....I love so many movies and hate so few. So I will go with the first two movies that came to mind.

Best - Tombstone - I have seen this movie easily 50 times and I could watch it 50 more. it just never gets old. Phenomenal Movie.....Enough Said!!!!!

Worst - Napoleon Dynamite - That is seriously 82 minutes of my life I will never get back. People kept telling me you have got to see this movie it is hysterical. I finally sat down to watch it and I think I actually lost brain cells trying to watch this crapfest. I think I cracked a half smile one time when he was dancing at the talent show or whatever. That was it!!!!!

I find it so funny that some of us love Napoleon Dynamite and others hate it so much.

It's one of my favorite movies ever.  I guess it's just a kind of sense of humor that some of us appreciate, and others don't.

I am like that with a few movies... I saw that someone noted Waterworld among their ultimate stinkers, and I've watched that movie at least 20 times. Same with another Costner movie, "The Postman." Most people I talk to think it is God-awful, but I'll sit there and watch it every time I see it's on TV. On the flip side, I saw Maine listed "Love, Actually" among his favorites, and I thought it was a complete dog.  The subjectivity of art never fails to astound me...

Maine is anything but common... Wink

Maine, I so disagree about Rent - I thought it was really well done and having the original Broadway cast really was awesome. I wasn't fond of all the changes, but overall, I was really happy with it

Best Movie:  Goodfellas & The Shawshank Redemption
Worst:  Raise The Red Lantern.  Fau ordered this because his Netflix thought it would be in his taste realm.  BTW, Netflix doesn't know me at all.  "Say Kate, I see you ordered 80,000 gangster and action movies.  Perhaps you would like "The Care Bears visit China."  I have a feeling Red lantern was similar experience and Fau was dumb enough to think "say, this Netflix fella has never steered me wrong".  It made me want to punch babies.

Be proud of Silence of the Lambs, CF.  That movie is great.

There are some movies that people really love that I think are shitty.  Recently, Weddings Crashers, I thought was pretty terrible.  Everyone else seems to love it.
