THE ASSCLOWN AWARD

« on: September 14, 2008, 10:59:42 pm »

1) Why is Ginn not in the game?  He's not going to improve if you just keep him on the sideline.  Unless he is planning to make Bess and Camarillo full-time starters, this doesn't make sense.  And why isn't Ginn returning kicks for us?

2) He punted twice on fourth down in Arizona territory even though our defense was sucking.  Camoron did this all the time last year.  Why not go for it?

3) The play calling was atrocious, they kept doing those ridiculous running plays on those pitches to the outside that never worked.  Plus, let's not forget that ridiculous fade pattern to the endzone on third and goal.  I have never in my life seen one of those plays work

4) Not calling those TOs at the end to give Henne another drive

5) Not being aware that 12 men were on the field.  He could have called TO

6) Not yelling at the refs enough

He's a rookie head coach so it's going to take a while.

I don't think that he is hard headed as Cameron and I feel the players like him. Mostly everyone hated Cam because he thought he knew too much.

He knows that he has a young team and if he had to go conservative to protect their psyche, he'd rather do that instead of having their confidence TOTALLY destroyed.

Cam started losing players after losing six games.  Don't think these guys won't quit too.  We still have an awful lot of football left to play and I do emphasize awful!!

And if that happens, Sparano will get his walking papers.... and Parcells will take over.

What good would that have done? We kicked an onside kick and they moved the ball into field goal range. You want to take timeouts so they can put more points on the board so that Henne can come in and kneel the ball (that's about all the time that would be left).

I think having Ricky and Ronnie in the backfield at the same time is stupid.  I think they should just sub in for each other and keep each other fresh.

I wasn't for the Sparano hire or Parcells coming in. My personal choice was Floyd Reese with Jason Garrett as head coach.

But Sparano IS trying. Cam looked like a deer caught in the headlights. Lets face it, Miami is rebuilding. They are two years out from making any impact. He's going to have to stay the course.

The only problem that I see and I said it last year with Capers. It takes a while for young defensive players to understand the mechanics of playing a 3-4 defense so I would have ran a 4-3 or 4-6 defense. We all witnessed the confusion on the secondary and line calls that led to Boldin's TD.

For the defense, you want them hitting and flying to the ball. The one thing that Jimmy Johnson understood when he took over the Miami defense was to play base and throw a blitz in every once in a while.

The Dolphins had the same problem last year (stopping the run, stopping the long ball) until they sort of ditched the 3-4 and went with a traditional base defense.

All the defensive players were saying how simple and easy this defense was to learn.  I guess they didn't get it.   Undecided

CF,

You know how it is. You want to mimic the company line and not make waves.
