There is the "NEW" icon that jumps to latest unread post in a thread, providing there are any. I use that extensively as well, so if that counts among the "Bells and whistles"...

We did a pretty major board upgrade a while back that (I think) re-set a lot of settings to a default.  The quick reply was one of them.  I highly recommend activating it, to those who haven't yet.  It's great.  You can still reply the other way, if you want to add images and stuff, but for a quick note, it's the bomb.

You can still add "images and stuff", if you know the bbcodes Wink. Anyway, even if I do want to use the buttons, I'll just hit Preview (I knew there was a use for it!).
