2011 NFC East Champions!

Easy answer: So that no matter what, 1 team will be undefeated at the end of the Super Bowl.

Too bad the Giants aren't going to the Super Bowl this year to save the 1972 season (again) for you guys.

I don't care what team does it. The fact that the dolphins will no longer be the only undefeated team is good enough for me. I still don't think it will happen. The colts have no intrest in going undefeated and the pressure will eventually get to the saints.

As a Dolphins fan, I wish that some one would go undefeated.

Football has changed since 1972. If you hit on a mixture of free agents and draft choices, you can turn fortunes around in a year.

Look at what Miami did last year by going from 1-15 to 11-5. The odds for teams going undefeated through a season to me have increased.

I get tired of ESPN dragging out Don Shula and the guys every year when someone gets to be 9-0. Its the same old questions. I hope the NFL turned into college football with an undefeated team every year. It's a milestone in Dolphins history but I'd rather have six Super Bowl trophies than two trophies and one undefeated season.

If Drew Brees and the Saints go undefeated, then to me, he leaps over Tom Brady as a premier quarterback and also Dan Marino. When you really look at the NO offense, there is only one superstar and that's Brees. To me, Reggie Bush is a Joke.

I honestly couldn't care less. The "perfect season" just doesn't hold a lot of value to me. Sure, it was cool, but it was ages ago. Who cares anymore?

I get tired of it year after year myself.  I would love it if the Saints did it, considering how down that franchise has been over the years.  Sorry Saints, didn't mean to put the hex on ya.

Mostly, I just don't want anyone in our division doing it (particularly the Pats).  And it wasn't all that long ago that the Colts were in our division so forget them too.

I know everyone says otherwise, but I think we will begin to see multiple teams go undefeated over the next 15 years or so.  There is such a heavy amount of coaching and player turnover that the few organizations with a solid coaching staff and the ability to keep their top players will be elite and everyone else will be looking for scraps.

I hope one of them goes undefeated too, so the whiners, haters and MEDIA finally stop bringing it up every two seconds. And to have something new to hate; fans of that team pounding their chest about being the first to go 19-0.

I agree. I think the undefeated season held value in the pre-1978 NFL were a slew of rule changes opened up the offense. The ironic part about the Saints is that they are similiar to the "No Name defense". You know who Vilma and Sharper is, but the rest of the defense, I don't have a clue.

Brees IS the offense.

I wouldn't mind if the Colts went undefeated but I'd rather have Dungy as coach. Jim Caldwell going undefeated? Doesn't even sound right.

The Dolphins have been shitty for 10+ years.  What else do we have to be proud of anymore other than heritage?

I'd like to thank the Patriots for choking in both games. Roll Eyes

Yeah, I still care about it.  It's only been done once, and it's only been done by the franchise most of us here root for.  What's not to like?

1) The Dolphins will always be the first team to have gone undefeated.

2) If both teams somehow ran the table, it would diminish what the Patriots did the season before last.

To go undefeated and beat a previously undefeated team would be very cool regardless of being second to go undefeated.

I'm in the minority as I'm proud of what we did but am embarrased as that is our only claim to fame as of late!! I certainly don't bring it up as a bragging kind of a thing.

I find it amazing that Dolphin fans would even consider wanting the only perfect season broken. I never bring it up. I doubt many of you ever bring it up because it was before you were born. It is history. It makes the Dolphins franchise special. I don't get it.
