So it is safe to assume there would be the same level of outrage if Ronnie Brown had been selected to the probowl as a Runningback and suggested he be able to line up at QB once or twice to run the wildcat, because that would take away from the AFC QBs pro-bowl experience.    

Nice try, but bad comparison. The majority of teams in the NFL use some form of the Wildcat, snapping the ball directly to RBs and WRs every game. How many NFL teams can you count that use WRs to handle occasional kicking duties?

Exactly...zero. The Wildcat is a strategy used to help offense. Ochocinco wanting to kick the ball is a strategy used to help Ochocinco get more face time.

You mean other than Miami?  Welker kicked a FG and an PAT for you guys when he was a WR for the Dolphins. 

Ocho did do a kickoff during the preseason for Cinci.  I know the QB for NE punted last year.  Randy Moss has played on defense.  NE has had Vrebal play tightend before he got traded. Players sometimes play different positions.

I'm usually all for Ochocinco's showboating...I think it adds a little spice to the game, but this isn't the right thing to be doing. Let the kickers who actually are kickers enjoy their pro bowl experience, just as Ochocinco has enjoyed it. I really don't want to start seeing WR's kicking the ball, or linebackers playing QB, etc...

Based on the level of interest from NFL players this year, I don't think playing in the game is the enjoyment part of the Pro Bowl experience.

Hoodie, I recall what you're saying, but I don't know that this is the best point, either, because our *real* kicker at the time (I'm wanting to say it was Mare still, but it might have been someone else before Feely by then) was injured or banged up.  So, apparently Welker was the next best man for the job since obviously most teams don't carry two kickers into a regular season game unless it's a situation where they have one for kickoffs only and the other one for FG's/XP's.  In comparison, if Shane Graham were injured for the Bengals during the course of a game, perhaps they would consider making Chad their kicker for the duration of the game (though at the rate that Wildcard game with the Jets went, maybe they should have considered it even without injury.  ), but I doubt they'd do it just to humor Chad.

I just don't get why people are so upset over this. Its a meaningless game. Its not like he said "I want to compete for the kicking job next summer". 

As I said before, I'd probably be more likely to actually watch some of the game if I knew this was happening.
