With the massive recall and the other information coming out, would you be willing to buy a Toyota, or would you look to another brand if you were in the market for a vehicle?

I would be willing to buy a Toyota.

So long as the company has stepped forward to fix it, I'm fine with it.

To me these problems are much less than what Ford went through with the trucks catching fire for no reason.

I think they're handling it properly. I wouldn't buy a Toyota because their cars put me to sleep. Boring.

That was a much smaller recall.

I wouldn't buy a Ford or a Toyota!  Cheesy

For me, it's the smugness of some Toyota owners that I've ran across with the ...Eww, and American car attitude, the ones that think that the Japanese cars are perfect.......as a matter of fact this is sort of Like a virus suddenly wiping out mac users.... Cheesy

I thought it was odd,and didn't buy the recalling the car because of Floor mats...and Now it's becoming clear Toyota knew more than they were letting on...Allegedly...

I wouldn't buy a Toyota in the first place because they are overpriced.

My family has owned several Toyotas -- my parents are pretty brand loyal.  They've had lots of luck with the cars and they've lasted them a long, long time with little maintenance.

Although, we're not a big "car family".   We've never put much weight in having nice cars.

I voted No because I've been driving Hondas since I was 16.  I never bought Toyotas before the recall and will not buy one after.

I voted yes because...well, Toyotas are the shit.  That's pretty much all.

See above.  Proud Toyota owner since 2000 and loved the crap out of both 'Yota trucks I've had.  Also, I recently purchased a Macbook Pro in Nov., and those things are the shit, too.   Cheesy  Grin Just messin' with you, Lil B.....well, that's a lie, because all of that stuff is true, but when I saw you take a poke at Mac users, too, I had to throw that one in there also.  Seriously, though, I've been extremely satisfied with my Toyotas.  I'm not a fanboy type, I don't believe, but when you like a product, you like a product.

I've got 1 year left on a 4 year lease on a Toyota mini Van for my wife. I wanted to get her a Volkswagon this time around but next week I'm gonna stop by the Toyota dealer and see what they can do. Its fun to have the upper hand for a change. I've NEVER seen that with Toyota in the Past. Those Boys played hardball because they knew if you didn't buy it , someone else is waiting right behind you. I'm gonna bend that dealer over and if he lets me stick it in I'll definitely do another Lease.

Wink It's fine....I deserved that one!  Grin   I was abruptly, and sort of rudely reminded that my parents owned a Toyota dealership, and is the reason we moved here from K.C....Also reminded that the car, that I referred to as "The spaceship" was a Toyota Celica Supra...She had the white one the longest, but the red one I had the flying lesson in (being thrown from the back seat to the front seat in a very slow speed collision, standing up in the backseat, uttering famous last words...)

I'm curious to see Mr. Toyoda,do the Walk of shame in Congress, but don't expect anything to really come of it...

They still refuse to admit that there is even the possibility of an electrical problem. I hope every single vehicle gets recalled. They deserve nothing less for the lies they have kept spitting out for years. Toyota quality my ass, their quality has been declining for years.

According to what I heard on the news, electrical problems were ruled out by several independent sources.

According to what I heard on the news, electrical problems were ruled out by several independent sources.

There have been concerns about the electronic fuel programing. It was even brought up in Toyota's own internal memo's which said outside interference could cause the engine to surge to higher rpms.  Yet Toyota is now saying it could not possibly surged enough to cause these accidents. If it has shown a smaller problem in testing, then there is no reason to believe that a certain percentage of all vehicles with this system would experience catastrophic surging events which could lead to loss of control and fatal accidents.
You do not have to be a serious gearhead or mechanical engineer to understand that any system on a vehicle is foolproof. Yet this is what Toyota would have you believe about their cars electronics.
