The implosion continues.  I figured that they'd at least last a few more weeks before the entire team fell apart.

I wonder if he's gonna be out for the Fins' game.  Let's see if he gets suspended for this.

Is it his first time getting arrested for anything?

^^^ Nope, he punched one of Lebron's friends at a club in Cleveland before he left.

Ronnie Brown hasn't been suspended yet.  For doing the same thing in March.  I doubt Edwards gets suspended before Brown does.  They both should be suspended eventually.

^^^ It depends on their individual situations. This could be Brown's first offense. Maybe the league already had Edwards on its substance abuse list. That would mean two strikes and a suspension.

Considering the issues the Jets recently had with that one female reporter, they might, for image purposes, do well to suspend him this upcoming game even if it is not required by the league

He'll play this week.  The suspension will come later, if at all.  They always push this kind of stuff back during the discovery process.

Reports are the Jets are doing that.

There is a second issue, here:  This didn't happen on Sunday night.  It happened on Monday night -- 5 am he is still awake  and drunk.  Practice is probably at 9 am.  Way worse that eating a cheeseburger on the field when stretching out.

Keep in mind Rex Ryan attributed the Baltimore loss to a very bad week of practice for the offense, and the Patriots win to a very good week of practice.  Edwards was setting himself up for a very bad week of practice, pulling an all nighter and then showing up drunk.

Slowly I see the threads of the Jets getting ready to explode like the seam in fat Rex's shirt.    Grin Cheesy

Aren't Mondays typically an easy day for NFL teams any way?

Tuesday is the day teams are usually off in the NFL.  If the team wins in a convincing fashion, sometimes the coach will give them Monday AND Tuesday off.

I keep forgetting NEP is unique.  NEP -- Monday is the day off.

Two teammates were in vehicle with Braylon Edwards
Posted by Mike Florio on September 21, 2010 4:36 PM ET
It was reported earlier today that Jets receiver Braylon Edwards had a passenger in his car when arrested early this morning for DUI.  As it turns out, he had two.  As it also turns out, they play for the Jets.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson and defensive end Vernon Gholston were in the vehicle with Edwards.

It's unknown whether and to what extent they were intoxicated.  In many cases, when the driver of a car is at 0.16 percent blood alcohol concentration, the other folks in the car who aren't driving are even more messed up.
