He had a few decent seasons in his career as the Jags starter - and is now a very serviceable QB for any team that falls on their face right out of the gate.

The Jags did the same thing with Leftwich, cut him the week before opening day....I guess it's the way the Jags roll? Undecided

Not surprising this has been talked about for a month now and reported in a few places. He has been poor in training camp and banged up. And they weren't gonna pay him $8 mill to be a backup.

Miami will show interest. That has been the rumor/story since early August. If they actually sign him, who knows

I hope they don't sign him, just so that we can stop this constant carousel of QB controversy.

I hope we don't sign him cause if Henne sucks we might end up with Luck or Barkley. I don't want a competent QB to win us games down the stretch if our season is already over come mid October.

Luke McCown.

It's only a matter of time before Gabbert takes the reins.

Luke McCown is actually a pretty decent QB.  If the Jags can keep a decent record, it might be the end of the year (if out of playoff contention) to next year before we see Gabbert.

how is this a surprise?  You don't draft a quarterback that high and then not play him eventually.  Better they cut him now and find out what they've got.  Garrard was not a bad quarterback but he wasn't great either.
