lol.  It shouldn't take this long for Ireland and Sparano to build a winning football team.   Do you honestly believe that Sparano will ever become a great hc like belichik, or do you think he peaks as a serviceable one. Jets went 1-15 in '96.  Went 12-8 won the division and won a playoff game in '98.

NE was 5-11 in '00 and SB champs in '01.
STL was 4-12 in '98 and one of the best teams in the history of the league in '99.

You talk of a "four-year-plan" as if the team is supposed to make steady, marked improvement every year.  Did the '09 Dolphins improve over the '08 Dolphins in any way?  Did the '10 Dolphins make a significant upgrade from '09?

The four-year-plan is excuse making.  If MIA can go 11-5 the year following a 1-15 season, what possible reason is there for them to get WORSE?  Only two games are determined by division finish, and Miami LOST both of those games in '08, so "they played a harder schedule" is a completely invalid excuse.

My issue with the Trifecta is this:  Since day one we've had problems deciding who should be here and who shouldn't. Why is it so hard for these guys to make good decisions with players?

-Samson Satele would instantly solve our OG problems, but he's tearing it up in Oakland.

-Will Allen cut but Benny Sapp and Nolan Carroll kept.  Now Sapp is cut and we just resigned Allen. Oh and we didn't want to pay Allen or Larry Johnson but now we're on the hook for Sapp's contract

-Working out guys like Tiki Barber, Brian Westbrook, and then signing Johnson, etc. When are we going to try out Jim Brown and Marcus Allen?

-Polite is cut but now we have no one to trust in short yardage situations. Hey, he's a hell of a lot more valuable than guys like Spitler or Trusnik

-We blame the assistants like Paul Pasqualoni, John Bonamego, etc. but the problems still linger to this day. I don't think a Pasqualoni D has been torched as badly as Monday night's debacle

-Guys like Andre Goodman, Matt Roth and Satele are thrown into the wind, but we bring in guys like Gibril Wilson, Earnest Wilford, and Marc Columbo.

-The offensive still isn't set after 4 years, despite millions being invested in it, and the run blocking quality has gone south.

-This team rarely looks good against elite teams, continuing in year four

I'm done with the Parcells and co. regime. This experiment is no better off than it was when it started. Who can honestly say this team is better than it was in 2008?   Yeah, it's week 1.   But this same team got shredded by Atlanta in the 1st quarter for 17 points in the preseason. Ross will clean house at the end of the year and we'll be in for more rebuilding. I'm so looking forward to that again.

There were so many question personnel moves.  Trading Ted ginn for a 5th.  traded satele and signing smiley, then cutting smiley after a year. pat white. patrick turner.  cutting jason allen. pat mcquistan, marc columbo.  the slew of dallas rejects they brought in the first year like akin ayodele. They didn't build the team, they just brought it back to mediocrity.  They think they are going to get people off the street who are going to be lightning in a bottle, when the people are on the street for a reason.  They just churn and burn the bottom of the roster. Yes, Benny sapp sucked on monday, but they have 5cbs, you are telling me that he is outright terrible and wouldn't make a better 5cb than whatever bum we sign off the street? Yes, but that is only because their 1st round overall pick, 3 time pro-bowl, 2 time all pro, highest paid player in the league starting QB got injured during the 2nd game of 2001 forcing the team to  play a 6th round 2nd year back up QB.  You can't really expect every team to have such luck.
