I have to give it to the offensive line.  As a unit, they played like crap.  Allowed three sacks and let Matt Moore get harassed all day.  Pouncey botches a shotgun snap which leads to a fumble recovery by Dallas on the Miami 5.  Long gets three false start penalties and a holding penalty.

On a side note, this is why Sparano needs to be canned at the end of the season.  He is a supposed offensive line genius.  He has put millions into this line and spent way too much on high draft picks, and look where it's gotten them.

Dishonorable Mention to the play calling.  Miami gets the ball back with 4 minutes left and went 3 and out..and Why not go for 2 after Marshall's TD?

I am going with the O-line as well.

But that snap should have been caught by Moore.

Jake Long for about three false starts and Matt Moore for not being able to handle a fucking shotgun snap.

Matt Moore was the specific reason why the Fins lost the game.

Pouncey did not give him perfect snaps, but the 2 that were he dropped were definitely catchable.  If it was baseball, I'd score them as passed balls not wild pitches.  The botched snaps were definitely killers in the game.

Moore also was quite inaccurate in his short to medium range throws.  Several times he just flat out missed receivers, especially so on 3rd down.  Bess was able to make a great one handed catch, but you can't count on that from every receiver with all the poorly thrown balls.  He missed by a step or 2 on most of them so I feel the problem can be corrected, but his inaccuracy was a major reason why the Dolphins settled for 4 field goals in the red zone.

You can blame whoever but the shame comes from the fact we scored 3 points off of two early turnovers.  Getting virtually nothing from turnovers almost always comes back to bite you.

For sure.  Gotta may teams pay for their mistakes when you have the chance.

I was thinking something similar, CF, and you know what particular game that reminds me of (minus the missed fumble recovery call right before the 2 minute warning) from last year?  Yep.  The Steelers game last October.  If we had punched the ball in at least one of those two times that we got it on like our own 20 after a KO return fumble and I believe a forced fumble against Big Ben, or something like that, then we wouldn't have ever had to worry about what happened there at the end of the game.  Similar feel here, other than the difference in how it played out, but ultimately the same result.

Just like when I see an opposing offense lined up in the shotgun with the other 5 skill position players spread out inside the 5 yard line and just know the other team is gonna pound it in against Miami with a QB draw, it seems like these past couple of years, since Sparano has been here, we don't capitalize on other teams TO's deep in our own territory...at least not by actually picking up a first down or two and punching it in for a score rather than no yardage and getting a FG.

Like you said, it definitely hurts when you miss those precious opportunities for 7 and only get 3.

Matt Moore.  Moore has been playing well, but this game was not his finest effort.  Dropped snapped was the major item, but his passes were off the mark.  He over led a few open receivers, and the receivers really had to work at a few catches.  Hope he rebounds next week.

HM to Columbo.  He really does suck.

O line sucked all day.  Long was getting abused by Ware.  Pouncey couldn't snap the ball.  The right side was a turnstile

Offensive play calling sucked.  You're getting killed on pass rush every down, the only way to take advantage is to throw a screen and let Reggie run all day.  Not one time did they even try to set up a screen, with their first round center and meanest guard in the NFL.  Not once.

Shayne Graham showed why he was unemployed - you make that FG you win the game, plain and simple.

Lots of blame to go around, IMO.

They did run that play with the ridiculously unbalanced line (entire OL to the right of the center)... and a Cowboy LB sliced right through it and blew Bush up.

If you're going to pick one play from the second quarter as the reason MIA lost, why not go with the fumble that put DAL on MIA's 5-yard-line?

I'm surprised that you're so confident that after effortlessly driving 54 yards to the MIA 10-yard-line, that extra 2nd-quarter FG (for a 5-point lead instead of a 2-point lead) means that DAL would have been prevented from scoring a TD.
