Kaepernick is getting the job done with his arm, against a good Bears secondary to boot. So far, he's got 158 passing yards and a touchdown on 9 of 11 passing. He keeps this up, Alex Smith better get used to holding a clipboard.

^^^^^
The knock on him was his size and the fact that he didn't run a conventional offense in college. Apparently neither are hampering him tonight.

^^ They already started on ESPN last night. Guys are still on the field and the graphic on the screen said "Should Alex Smith start once he's healthy?"
Normally, whenever a backup has a good game like this, the coach usually jumps out and says, "This is still <insert starting quarterback's> team". A telling sign is that Jim Harbaugh never came forward and said, "This is still Alex Smith's team."
