I didn't know that was Gravitron.  Is that confirmed?

^^^ I had to look it up. The doctor did indeed share that character's name.

Hmm...cool.  I figured that was some tie-in, but I'm not super up on all of the more obscure Marvel characters.

Are we all pretty comfortable with the fact that Coulsen is a Life-Model-Decoy?  They are laying on the hints thicker and thicker each episode.  They talk about him being rusty with a gun, but he says "yes, but it should just be muscle memory."  I was talking with a buddy and we're on the same page that this will probably lead into Avengers 3, with the tech creating the new Coulsen turning into some version of Ultron, tying it all together.

I agree that the season should be shorter.   The fight scenes are pretty bad, but once in a while, the special effects are cool.   The stuff with the truck, as well as the "gravity room" seemed like pretty cool ideas.  Yet other stuff looks so friggin' cheesy.

I also hear rumors that the success of this show to this point has peaked CBS's interest in bringing Star Trek to the small screen to accompany the films.  They met with Robert Orci recently, so he claims.  That got me excited.

I was clueless about Graviton...or Coulsen being a robot.

Now I'm not.

whoa whoa whoa. Coulsen is a robot? Is that why they keep bringing up his time in the islands? (Also, Coulson is adorable!)

That's my theory.

They keep mentioning things like "He must never know", "This should be muscle memory", they keep mentioning this vacation that he had, but it's really shady and they are super-vague about it.  Not to mention that we watched him die in the Avengers and they've essentially given us no explanation as to why he's still around.  There was talk of a cellist he was dating at some point in the Avengers, but we've seen no sign of her or anything related to a life that would accommodate that.  Dude's a bot -- write it down.

OK.  So, I've just watched the 4th episode of the series and there's another big indication that Coulsen is a LMD, so much so that he is noticeably different internally.  The girl with the x-ray eye asked "what they'd done to Coulsen" and when asked to clarify, they didn't.

This show has been really good for the last 2 episodes.  A stride has been hit.

Yeah, this show keeps getting better each episode. That's a good sign...

I agree with this.  It's kinda corny and had a rocky start, but it's slightly better with each show.  Lots of shows are like that.  I hope they continue to find their groove.

Tonight is the big night. Supposedly the secrets about Coulson will be revealed and according to him, fanboys should be happy with the resolution.

Here's the quote:

Tonight, we officially find out what happened to everyone's favorite S.H.I.E.L.D. agent in the mid-season premiere of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and speaking with TV Guide, Clark Gregg says it's a satisfying reveal.

"As a fanboy, I thought, "How are they going to do this? They've been keeping this for 10 episodes." We know that there's something bogus about the magical place concept. He can't even say Tahiti without turning into a robot. Is he a robot? How did they bring him back? Is he some kind of Life Model Decoy, as all the Marvel fans think? Is he the Vision? There's all these theories. How do you do this for real and really pay it off? At the same time, you don't want them to go, "Well, I guess that's the finale of the show. There's really no need to continue after this. The bullet was in the chamber, now it's completely blown." When I read the script, I was blown away because it's completely satisfying to me as a fanboy, and, as probably the biggest fanboy in Phil Coulson in the Marvel Universe, because it's not a tease, it's: here's what happened! At the same time, what they've crafted not only opens up enough questions that are at the existential core of Phil Coulson and his relationship with S.H.I.E.L.D., but really set the direction for the back end of the season and the future of the series. I was very, very impressed with what they delivered here."
