Yeah, I said it.  Here's why:

Week 1 head to head, Dolphins win.

Common opponents:
Patriots vs Raiders: at home, Patriots squeak out a win by 7 after McFadden game-tying TD is called back.
Dolphins vs Raiders: Dolphins romp them by 24

Patriots vs Chiefs: Patriots got crushed, and didn't score first points until second half
Dolphins vs Chiefs: Dolphins were in the game down by 6 in the mid-4th quarter.  Lose by 19, thanks to 2 late TD's.

QB comparison (thru 4 games):
Ryan Tannehill: 60% comp, 902 yds, 6 TD, 3 INT
Tom Brady: 59.1% comp, 791 yds, 4 TD, 2 INT

(I'm not saying Tannehill is better than Brady, but right now, he's playing better.)

With Miami getting a bunch of guys back after the bye, the Patriots seeming to regress quickly, Buffalo just benched their QB, and the Jets are, well, the Jets, I think Miami has a real shot at taking the AFC East this season.

I think GB is beatable at home but will be a tough game.  I think Jax is a gimme.  Chicago on the road will be a challenge, but not impossible.

Agree totally.  It so painfully obvious that our division is there for the taking.  Here's why:

1.  Our offense is by far the most complete in the division.  Ranking the offense from 1 to 4 in our division:

QB : Tannehill a strong 2nd behind Brady.
RB:  With a healthy Moreno, I give us the edge over Buffalo.  #1
WR & TE :  WR's #1... TE's 2nd or 3rd...GRONK still the best.
OLINE :  2nd but gaining fast... PATS dead last, that OLINE will kill Brady.

2.  Our Defence in my opinion are the best, followed by the Jets and Bills.  No one can get after the QB like us, and getting back some missing pieces will only help us.

Things can turn quickly, but our next 3 games are against sub par defences, and two of those games are in Florida.

Still on record as wanting Philbin gone, but we'll leave that to the off season.  Just want to see the playoffs, especially in an ordinary AFC this season.  After the Broncos and Bengals, the rest is a crap shoot.

Go Fins.  Run that ball down everyone's throat!

^ With the exception of Grimes, our secondary is pretty suspect.

I wont be surprised if the fins go 1-2 .   Green bay and Chicago  are not going to be easy.  Jax may surprise as well.  When it rains it pours, you not going to know which Dolphin team will show up to play

The topic of this thread would be a more comforting thought if MIA wasn't constantly losing to BUF.

Well you were right on two of two, hopefully you are right about the Jax game.  At this point you have to think Miami will win at least eight games.  If they keep playing like they have, and improving, then ten wins are a possibility.  The key is avoiding back to back losses to keep the negativity out of the lockerroom.

10 wins mean we go 7-3 the rest of the way. There is nothing about this team's inconsistency and it's terrible coaching that should make anyone think 10 wins are a possibility.

^^^ Very Winnable games - Jags, Lions, Bills, Jets 2X, and Vikings, thats (6).  Then one win against either Chargers, Bronco's, Ravens, or Pats, makes (7) wins.  The Bronco's game is the only game I see them with almost zero chance of winning.

-Jags should be a win.
-Lions are 5-2 WITHOUT Megatron for a few games. This belongs in the tough pile because he should be healthy when we play them.
-Bills own us, this is a loss.
-Jets are truly awful, but a split is more likely.
-Vikings are hot garbage, should be a easy win.

That's 3-3 right there, our current record. Now, throw in the tough games and 7-9 is more likely. We are the Dolphins for a reason and that's because we lose games we have no business losing like to Green Bay and Buffalo.

Bills game is a Thursday night game in Miami. Road teams on these short weeks have had a rough go of it all year. The only time the home team loses is when the home team flat out stinks (Washington and Houston, and Houston almost came storming back to win it.) Bills without Jackson and Spiller as well. That game won't be a loss for Miami. That game is tailor made for a Dolphins win.

This is more likely what will unravel.
