Dolphins DE Derrick Shelby was arrested last night. Trespassing and resisting an officer

Reason for his arrest was he caused a disturbance at a club. He was asked to leave by the police and club security. He refused...so he was arrested

Shelby's face was pretty beat up in his mug-shot

His lawyer is hinting that it was the cops. We shall see though.

Interesting he was beaten to a bloody pulp, but charged with "resisting arrest without violence".

The Dolphins just suspended Shelby indefinitely.   With Starks and his bad back and Jordan 2 weeks away the d-line depth is getting thin

Well Shelby got the answer to his question ("What are you gonna do??), and the reply was you get hit with the taser three times, and get a bit scuffed up when your down on the ground being handcuffed.

Turns out the cops told him not to come back in the club and he grabbed the arm of one of them.  That's a big no-no.

Then he should have been charged with battery on a LEO. And also, how do you get charged with resisting without violence but get tased three times and get your lip split?

Obviously there was violence. They went easy on the guy because he's a Dolphin. You or are would have had 6-8 charges thrown at us.

Looks like he's been reinstated, and the players union is not happy with him being suspended to begin with.
