The refs are back on the Patriots side.

They helped the Patriots seal the win today with some ridiculous penalty calls.

I wonder if this will end when Brady retires

Everyone but the Pats suck anyway, even if the refs were against them the Jets would still go 3-13, Bills 7-9 and Miami 5-11.

That last FG in the game last night that the Pats blocked to win the game. A Pats player almost lined up over the center (which is a penalty).....but the Ref told him to move and saved him from getting a penalty. Video evidence below

I can certainly see why all the "cheatin' refs" would help the Patriots every game.  I mean, the AFC East is such a powerhouse division with so many teams loaded with talent that would surely knock the Patriots from atop the division if not for the "cheatin' refs".

^^ this. Mike and Mike mentioned that NE has had 11 straight seasons of 10 or more wins this morning and Chris Carter was quick to point out that that was due a lot to the weakness of the AFCE. Basically any team that gets 6 games a year against the Jets, Bills, and Miami SHOULD have double digit wins every season.

And how many seasons of 10 wins or more have Peyton Manning's teams had?  How fortunate that both of those QBs just seem to be in bad divisions, even when one of them changes divisions.

It's also funny how the "weakness of the AFCE" resulted in an AFCE team in the conference championship or Super Bowl 9 out of the last 11 years.

NFL: What official did before Patriots blocked Jets' field goal is 'standard procedure'

An NFL spokesman clarified why an official nudged Patriots linebacker Dont'a Hightower away from the line of scrimmage just before the Jets' possible game-winning field goal was blocked at the end of Thursday night's loss to the Patriots.

"It is a standard officiating procedure that occurs regularly," league spokesman Greg Aiello told NJ.com in an email. "In fact, it is on [vice president for officiating] Dean Blandino’s video that went to the teams [Thursday] and will be on the version of it that goes to the media [Friday]. That rule was adopted for player safety purposes, another good reason to help avoid violations in advance."

Blandino took to Twitter to offer his own explanation:

Aiello further confirmed that Rule 9-1-3(a) is still on the books. But when does it get enforced? Only when a player doesn't listen to the official's suggestion to move, or if the official doesn't see the player over the center in time to tell him to move, he said.

"Helping players get lined up properly takes place in other pre-snap situations to avoid administrative penalties," Aiello said. "It’s a longstanding standard officiating mechanic."

Rumors out there Rex might be fired tonight or tomorrow after today's loss vs the Bills. Not sure what the point of firing him now, he made this mess make him suffer through the last 2 months of it. Why should he get off easy?!

Either way Rex's days in NY are over soon or at seasons end and its gonna be sad to see him go as fan of a team in the division. Yes he is a blowhard and arrogant and a lackluster to downright bad head coach. But his quotes were fun, his comments were stupid and laughable, and he always kept it interesting.

He will go back to being a defensive coordinator because at the end of the day that's all he is.

Not that he is perfect, but I feel bad for Rex because at no point did he not have the WORST Quarterback in the NFL on his squad. At his best early on, Sanchez just didn't fuck up, that's it.

I think he can be a head coach again because of hos much his players love him and play for him. That doesn't mean they do win because eventually you need to have talent, but I wouldn't mind if he coached Miami next year.

I don't see him getting another head coaching job for a while. He isn't head coach material and is a huge distraction. Check that....I could ONLY see the Raiders hiring him as Head Coach next year as he fits the bill for them. Otherwise any owner with a clue won't make him a head coach. He will go back to being a DC.

P.S...if his players love him and play for him how come they are 1-7 this year? I always laugh at that statement because its the dumbest statement ever. His players love him and play hard....what other players on other teams don't play hard? His players play harder? If so how come they just suck year after year then?

They suck because the Jets have no talent. General Patton couldn't get these guys to the playoffs with Geno Smith at QB.

That's such bullshit! Rex is probably the worst coach in the league when it comes to clock management and has no clue what is going on half the time on the sideline. And the Jets have look real prepared in blowout loses to the Bills and SD. Give me a break.

If they all love him so damn much how come they leave? Not one player has ever taken less money to stay with Rex. And EVERY coach in the NFL takes blame and doesn't throw the players under the bus. Because if you did you would be out of a job within 24 hours. Not to mention when his assistants leave (Pettine, Schottienhimer, and Westoff) they all badmouth Rex and say he isn't a good head coach. His Record is 43-45 as a Regular Season head coach and you are talking about him like he is Lombardi....lol. Unreal!
