I still say the GM spot is the biggest need we have for an upgrade. This draft has helped us less than most drafts and that's saying something as we have been pathetic in finding talent. Regardless of who they select for a coach if our O-line continues to suck for year 4 and other draft picks are constantly waiting to develop for other teams we could have Don Shula in his prime and still suck.

When firing head coach Joe Philbin, the Dolphins obtained a head start in their search for a new coach. But Dan Campbell could delay that process.

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins plan to give Campbell 4-6 weeks on the job before they begin the process of searching for a new coach. Presumably, the Dolphins will delay that process even farther if the victories continue.

“Dolphins executive vice president Mike Tannenbaum will not make a move on the hiring front — regardless of how many times CBS.com reports he’s reaching out to agents — for fear of upsetting the chemistry or vibe of what is happening,” Salguero writes.

It’s an odd strategy for the Dolphins; doing background work on the potentially available candidates is expected. So that shouldn’t be expected to disrupt anything.

The Dolphins need to be prepared to search exhaustively for the right coach, if Campbell doesn’t earn the job. The mere fact that the front office is doing its due diligence could, in theory, make the players play even harder for Campbell.

Then there’s the Rooney Rule. The Dolphins must comply with it after the season before hiring a full-time coach. If it ever seems like a done deal that Dan Campbell will get the job, it could be harder to persuade a minority candidate to interview for the job.

Of course, those would all be good problems to have, because it would mean that a team that seemed lost a few weeks ago has become a real contender.

Getting offended by something you see on the internet is like choosing to step in dog shite instead of walking around it.

We're still looking hard and doing research, this is probably leaking so that the players play hard for Campbell and don't think the season is lost. I mean, it IS lost but you see what happens when this team thinks that.

We're 2-1 and just lost to the undefeated defending Superbowl champs.

Season is far from lost.

We can say that if we lose the next two.
