I have a 2000 GMC sierra pick up,and since I bought it (in 2006) it's had an intermittent "PRNDL" display,a pretty common problem with these trucks.
I wanted to make sure it wasn't a loose connector,it was the 1st time the "PRNDL" display had been off for more than a couple of days.I unplugged the Cluster, checked the plug.wiggled it to make sure it wasn't loose plugged it back in the Cluster.Turned the key on,my oil pressure gauge spun around and pointed straight down.Uplugged it,plugged it back in my Oil pressure gauge worked as normal, but my Fuel gauge spun around and pointed down.Suddenly the air bag light is flashing, the brake light,ABS light,Fasten seat belt light.
Unplugged it,plugged it back in,Turn the key on,Fuel gauge is gone, suddenly in my message center shows "security" and never shuts off.Take the key out "Security" light stays on.3 days later the battery is dead.
Security light stays on draining the battery, the "PRNDL" Display is on,fuel gauge isn't working, and numerous other warning lights are staying on with the key engaged.
I find a repair service on Ebay for about $100 limited lifetime warranty, after 2 local companies tell me they don't work on any pre 2003 gauges anymore.Feedback is pretty good,Google+ reviews pretty ehhh.
Try 1- Sent the Cluster to them,it arrives a few days later,in at 9am,Get email it's on the way back around 3pm.
10 days since I bought the service, and sent it off, I receive it back...I plug it back in,Nothing is changed,(I do notice some small cracks at the bottom of the lense, could have been in shipping.) Called them, Did a hard reset, called them back they said it tested fine...They sent me a label to return it.
Try 2 Sent it back the day it arrived,Drove my truck sporadically, couldn't do anything to it.5 days later they received it,they kept it for 3 days, and claimed everything works fine,it's a truck problem.
I got it today, plugged it back in and no extra lights, the fuel gauge works, the "PRNDL" display works fine...
Do you leave them positive feedback?Yeah they fixed it,but claim they didn't...
