You guys aren't going to say he was "too cute" when we have an extra 1st rounder two years from now.  Imagine a franchise thinking of the long term and not being shortsighted.  Weird.

If Chase and Pitts make 2 Pro Bowls each by 2023 while we have the 28th overall pick from the Niners, I will say we were too cute unless Waddle makes Wes Welker look like Jakeem Grant.

I'm a little concerned that Waddle is only 5'10".

That's exactly how tall Tyreek Hill is.

A couple of quality picks early tonight at 36/50... I am crossing fingers for any of the following:

RB Williams
OC Humphrey or Dickerson
OT: Sam Cosmi or Teven Jenkins
OG: Wyatt Davis or Quinn Meinerz
CB: Tyson Campbell or Assante Samuel jr.
S: Trevon Moehrig or (possibly at #50), Jevon Holland
ILB: JOK or (possibly at #50), Chazz Surratt*
OLB: Azeez Ojulari

It is funny how often we think alike.  For me, it would be:
RB: Williams
OC:  Maybe Humphrey, I would like Dickerson a lot more if not for his injury history (although I'm not crazy about any of the Centers this year)
OT:  Sam Cosmi
OG:  Aaron Banks (although 2nd round might be a reach and I don't think OG is a need anyway)
CB:  Aaron Robinson
S:  Moehrig or Holland
ILB:  Not in the 2nd round, but I really like Monty Rice or Jabril Cox a little later
OLB:  All the ones I really liked are gone already JOK kind of scares me at under 220 pounds but he could be a good rotational player as a coverage LB or designated rusher/blitzer.

This might ease your worries a little.  Waddle playing basketball in highschool.

Yeah...I am not overly concerned about Waddle's height. Too many excellent players in the NFL over the years that were smaller players. Waddle's ability to run through and past coverage is so elite that I think his height will be a non-issue.

OC:  Maybe Humphrey, I would like Dickerson a lot more if not for his injury history (although I'm not crazy about any of the Centers this year)

We are definitely in opposite camps on this note. I think that this is not only a good OC class, but a fairly deep one as well. There are 5 different centers in this class that I would be happy to see on Miami's line.

Humphrey
Dickerson
Meinerz (OG/C)
Myers
Hill (OG/C)

You could very well be right.  I think all of them have potential, it just seems like I had a big concern in one form or another on each of them.  It sure wouldn't be the first or last time that I was wrong.  LOL

You and me both. Before SF signed Alex Mack, OC was the 49ers 2nd biggest need position, behind only corner. I spent a lot of times watching vids of those centers.

Despite the Mack signing, I am still hopeful that SF drafts a C before this year's festivities are done.

O-Line is quickly becoming the most expensive position in the league behind QB. If we can, it would be good to draft as many as possible to keep future costs down. I would definitely take a Center or RT with our next pick if they are available and that Notre Dame kid is gone. Even if he isn't I might still take RT or C.

I just don't understand taking Waddle after signing Fuller.  MIA just acquired a burner to take the top of the defense; they needed a workhorse that can get 8 catches a game, not another high-YPC deep threat.

Fuller is a 1 year rental coming off of a steroid suspension. Waddle is ours for 5 years unless something terrible happens.

The pick was in really quickly once Miami went on the clock, so there was no doubt in their mind who they were going to take if Chase and Pitts were off the board. I'm still not convinced they would've taken Waddle if Chase was still on the board but it's pretty obvious they weren't going to take Sewell and ruled him out awhile ago.

Devante Parker as your #3 is really good. If Preston Williams stays healthy, that's scary.

Yeah, I'm happy with the Dolphins WR situation. LB and OL could still use some work in my opinion. I honestly feel like you could pick a RB in the 3rd or 4th round and it might be an upgrade but I really don't care. RB is like the least important position on the offense anymore. It's basically just a reason to give your receivers a rest...unless you are Tennessee then it's the opposite.
