TV:
Only Murders in The Building (Hulu) - good comedy-mystery with Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez.  It has a lot of meta-humor and commentary on technology between generations.  Funny show, worth watching, for sure.

Peacemaker - If you liked Suicide Squad (the new one that premiered on HBO this year), this is an HBO spinoff show.  It's pretty biting commentary on racism and toxic masculinity, while also giving characters room to grow and not just demonizing them.  It's very, very violent and very crude.  I like this way more than I even thought I would.  It also does a good job of lampooning some of the dumber ideas in DC comics by just leaning into the absurdity of it.

Ru Paul's Drag Race Season 14 - This is only notable because there's a straight guy from Arkansas as one of the queens.  And the best part is that all the gay dudes are as shocked by it as the viewers are.

TV:

Final season of Ozark and things are getting very heated.

Movie:

Just watched The Sixth Sense on Saturday for the first time with my wife and son.   What was thought to be a scary movie turned out to be really sad at the end.

Peacemaker is one of the better shows I've seen in a while.  It also has the best opening introduction of any show ever.

We binged the Ozarks.  I'm about over it, they need to wrap it up.  I see the formula, they lull you throughout most of the season and at the end of each season something crazy and dramatic happens.

We also binged Reacher.  It wasn't great but it wasn't bad either.  He acts a little "too cool for school", but overall it has some nice action elements to it.

1883 is a good show, it's a nice modern western and a spinoff from Yellowstone which I also love.

Succession is pretty good, we binged through it and just got caught up.  It's based loosely on a fictional Rupert Murdoch type and his asshole kids that want him to step down so they can take over.  I like it more than I thought I would.

Billions isn't the same without Axe.  The new season just isn't very good.

Narcos Mexico's latest season isn't very good either.  They should have just ended it last season.

The new Suicide Squad (2021)?  Because the 2016 one was terrible.

A lot of people say that but I'm not sure.  I think they're both just meh.  I liked Deadshot better than Bloodsport as a "main character" but I'd even venture to say that a giant alien starfish is just as absurd as an ancient mythical enchantress.  I dunno, i'm in the minority for sure but I thought they were about the same.

The giant alien starfish Starro is a callback to the first villain the Justice League ever fought in 1960.  For comic book geeks it was a cool way to bring in a classic ridiculous villain.

It's kinda what I love about the Suicide Squad.  It's all the stupid leftover shit packaged in a way that's meta and hilarious and recognizes its own absurdity.

I also love the shit out of Batman.  But Peacemaker making fun of how much of a pussy Batman is is equally awesome.

I forgot about Book of Boba Fett, yeah that's a good one.  It started off kind of slow but it's been better the last few weeks.
