Can we have an effing off-season?

Eleven house seats have yet to be decided.  One senate seat still needs a run off.  This year's elections aren't even over and we already have an asshole announcing his candidacy for the next election. 

This would be like opening spring training on the same day as game 5 of the world series.

^^^ Well with Congressman running every two years, they are perpetually campaigning.  As for some others announcing they are running, stupid reporters ask the question 4 years before a race so they might as well just say they are running to avoid having the question posed to them every other week.  They do have to have their campaign formally registered before announcing, which is why most politicians put it off.
