THE ASSCLOWN AWARD

« on: August 18, 2023, 03:15:23 pm »

Can any candidate run?

I have never voted in a primary election before, just the general.

If any candidate can run, isn't it silly to say Trump has the nominee locked up?  Wouldn't it be who wins?

Each party has some requirements to get on the ballot.

The nominee would be who wins, yes.  But when people say "Trump has it locked up",  it just means that he's so far ahead in the polls, that it's unlikely that anyone could catch him.

Actually it is each state.  Some states like NH it is real easy to get on the ballot.  But generally the requirements to get on the Republican ballot mirror the requirements of the Democratic ballot in most primary states.  Conditions could vary in caucus states.
