I had a vegemite sandwich once while on vacation in Canberra years ago (1990ish).  Well, I had a single bite of one...and threw out the rest.

I thought it was pretty foul. Sorry DownUnder.   Undecided

Did you eat it in front of a man from Brussels that was 6'4" and full of muscles?

Haha, no worries. I know it as an acquired taste.

I recall once having lunch with some coworkers.  One of which ordered calamari, me and the other guy had each tried it once and though it was repulsive.  The other guy mentioned that is likely a regional thing as he likes rocky mountain oysters which isn't even sold out here.  Both me and the calamari eater thought rocky mountain oysters sounded repulsive.  I then mentioned that I like gefilte fish which one of them had tried and thought was disgusting the other one had only smelled it and decided to pass.

There aren't many non-Aussies who like  vegemite.  And it is pretty rare that I have met a non-Jew who likes gefilte fish. One time I joked with one woman who was in the process of converting to Judaism that in order to convert she need to start eating gefilte fish and she said that she knew that wasn't true and if it was she wouldn't convert.

I've had gefilte fish before.   It's really good.   Although I prefer dipping it into cocktail sauce as opposed to simply horseradish.
