Something that pisses me off - voting

This bothers me really badly.

Why is it "rude" to ask people who they voted for?  What the hell?  During the election-time, people were all "hush-hush" about who they voted for (I know who all those hippies voted for anyways). 

Why is this such a stupid big deal?  Are the people who are all secretive like they just applied for a job for the CIA the ones who voted for the guy who lost?

You make such a huge deal about how important it is to cast a vote, and how everyone should vote, but you never want to talk about who you voted for.  That makes absolutely no sense.

Because people who talk crap about how their candidate was the best choice pre-election don't want to own up to their bad decisions post-election.

I actually think it's because they don't want to get into a political discussion with you. I have no problem saying who I voted for, but I will talk politics. Not everyone cares to get into that discussion. That's why it can be considered rude.

I think its cause they voted for Bush and are embarassed.

I think Phish has it right - I don't want to engage in a conversation, because the next logical remark is "why" and I don't feel like justifying my choice to anyone.

I don't wanna get into a political discussion w/ them.  I just wanted to know who they punched it in for.  That's all.  I know it's your "right" to keep your vote a secret, but I think when you're someone who pushes on to you "you HAVE to vote", you should at least have some common courtesy and at least tell me who the hell you voted for.  Who knows, maybe you can get me to vote the same, making "the difference", in your eyes.

We can't talk about religion or politics, or question them in any manner...

...but we can talk about the South Park episode where they kill off a character, portray images of bodily fluids and sexual acts, or the latest Soprano episdoe that clearly promotes illegal killing and mobbing, or we CAN talk about politics, as long as you're in full support of Michael Moore's latest touchy-feely documentary blaming bush for him being such a fat ass incompetent and everything under the sun, or as long as you support Bill Maher and everything he says in his latest stand-up or Real Time w/ Bill Maher episode.

We live in a fucked up country if this is the case.
