Double Dragon invaded arcade rooms in the mid 1980’s as a very popular beat ‘em up style game, featuring a two player option.  In Double Dragon, your character is Billy Lee, and the very evil “Black Warriors” gang have kidnapped your girlfriend,  Marian. You, along with brother Jimmy “Spike” Lee, must fight a constant stream of adversaries and mini bosses to save the damsel in distress

Apple Computers and Broderbund re-invented the video-game wheel with their 1989 release, Prince of Persia.  This game featured the most innovate design features in gaming history, as it mimicked human actions fluidly, realistically, and, for the first time in a video game, using a process called “rotoscoping”, a technique primarily used for movie and cartoon animators to trace frame-by-frame live action movement.

Double Dragon gets my vote, just because it was awfullly violent, and dudes got kneed in the stomach and beaten with bats.  By today's standards, that's kind of weak, but when you're 10, that shit is the bomb!

Oh, god this one is tough.

I used to love both of these games.  I used to break into the Double Dragon machine at the bowling alley when I was a kid to get free continues.

At the same time, Prince of Persia kept me going for months.  The stupid guy that jumped out of the mirror - pissed me off every time.

Thanks.  PoP was a LATE, LATE, LATE addition to this contest.  We had completely forgotten about it, until it just popped into my head, and we had to cut another favorite to make room.

This is very surprising to me.  I was never a big fan of Double Dragon (except DD 3 for NES).  Prince of Persia was great.

oh man tough call.  like brian said, when ur 10 DD ruled.  but prince of persia was a friggin awesome game, and since i had an apple i enjoyed the original release and played it forever

     Double Dragon gets my vote.  I remember I use to go to my best friend's house and we would play Double Dragon for hours on end!  We'd never get tired of it!  Good times, good times.

The crazy thing about that game is if you're playing with two guys, and you both make it to the end and beat the last guy, then you have to fight each other.

DD! Even thought the Prince was a bad Mofo and I really like the movements of the game guys, DD breaks the fuck out with this one!
