The mid 90’s bar and bowling alley arcade room scene quickly filled up with the introduction of Golden Tee.  You, either against an opponent or the computer, could compete in either a 9 or a 18 hole match to determine the winner!  Great graphics and interactive game play, combined with the use of a Centipede-Style trackball, made Golden Tee one of the most played arcade games of the decade, and later versions of the game are still some of the most popularly played to this day.

While not the first survival horror game, “Resident Evil” brought the genre to the forefront. The game takes a different path than other zombie games, and gives you deliberately slow paced game play and intentionally awkward camera angles to set up scares that will have you looking for a new pair of shorts. The game spawned an insanely popular series, as well as a movie, and the original has been re-released in many forms, on many different systems. Inventory restrictions and ammo scarcity make for many a defenseless trip back across the zombie-filled mansion halls. All tied together with gory cut-scenes, brain-teasing puzzles, and some shotgun blasts to the heads of the undead, “Resident Evil” is a contender for the best game of all time.

I think that Resident Evil is either a game you love or you don't.  I didn't play it until it was remade with new graphics for the GameCube.  I took to the intentionally clunky controls...it made the game better that you couldn't easily manuever.  ...that way, slow zombies were still scary.

I have to say that the first time through this game, it was one of the most rewarding.  I also liked to play it while my nephews and nieces watched.  ...we'd all get so jumpy from it.

I didn't like Resident Evil.  I'm not into that horror stuff.  But I voted for it, over Golden Tee.

When I was in college, we'd sit up late at night running through this game, of course the only light in the room was that of the TV, and it scared us when the music and the graphics popped a zombie through the wall at you!

     Was never really into the Resident Evil games.  So Golden Tee gets my vote.  The only time I ever play Golden Tee is when I go out to the bar.  Which is rare nowadays, because I'm trying to cutback on alcohol.
