Maybe you guys can help me.  I have Sprint.  My cell service is fine, but I am irritated with my voicemail.  I want it to provide me less info, in a faster manner.

For example.  The call goes like this:

"You have 3 messages.  2 of them are new.  1st new message.  From.  5... 6... 1... 1... 2... 3... 1... 2... 3... 4...  at.  5... 04.  PM.   'Hey bro, call me back.'"

Basically, it takes way too long to check my messages.  I'd rather it just rattle off the actual voice segment, and then I can pull up extra crap, like numbers and times if I want to.

Does anyone know how to do this?

usually the # sign is the magic button to skip all of that crap.

My pet peeve is after someone's voice mail is activated, then you get the cell phone's woman voice telling you about all the options you can do.  About 90% of the cell phone's will let you skip all that by hitting the # sign also.  One cell phone company has that set to the user's back-end password system or something (ie: I get "Please enter your password now").

So, for the majority of systems, I think # will work just nicely.

I did some expiramenting.  # makes you skip the message.  4 lets you skip the preamble.

# definately lets you skip either the persons message and/or the woman's voice and put you right through to the message recorder when you want to leave a message though....

I've found that "1" works well for this.

Nice - I have Sprint and that crap has been there for 7 years now at least (I got a cellphone in 1999).  I will now be pressing 4 immediately.
