Tua being injured this year might not be the death knell it's been the last couple of years for a couple of reasons.

1. I think Wilson and Ewers are major upgrades over what was here the last couple of years. I'm not expecting Tua like performance from them if Tua does go down, but perhaps they can be effecient in the offense (see point 2).
2. I think the run game is going to be the key to the offense this year. The offensive line has been rebuilt and there's reason to believe that not only are they better as pass protection but better at opening up the holes for running backs. There's a little bit of a mean streak in the guys they have now that was lacking in years past in my humble opinion. The season hasn't started yet, but I'm optimistic. If both of those things are true, Wilson and Ewers might be good enough to win games they should win which hasn't been the case in the past.
3. The defense I think might be improved as well. This is going to be tricky because obviously the backfield is missing some big pieces (Kohou getting injured really hurt), but the defensive line could be stout and not give opposing RB's much room to run or opposing QB's much time to look for open receivers. Could be a bit of feast or famine with the D, but even if they give up some big plays, they could produce more turnovers and also force some 3 and outs and give the offense better field position to work with. It's tough to score starting from inside your own 30 every series.

It's a long season so don't expect it to look great from the jump, but lets hope that come December/January things are looking better than they have in the past. If that's the case, I can live with that.

From what I've read of during the preseason practices and trials, I'd pretty much disagree with all of the above.

McDaniel is still well and truly hitched to the Tua/Tyreek/Waddle or bust train. Full stop.

The running game doesn't work without the deep threat, and take any of these guys out and the offense won't function. We've already seen this preseason nothing has really changed if the opposition stack the box, we still cannot run at will against it. Our O-Line still has no depth, the right side (Tua's blind side) looks porous without Jackson, and Brewer isn't a power blocker to open running lanes. We're gonna have the same problems as last year (including pre-snap penalties).

With our own D, I think our pass rush (should) be vastly improved with the addition of Grant and Jordan Phillips, along with the return of Chubb & Jaelan Phillips, plus a solid linebacker core... but our secondary is very suspect (even with Minkah back). It's gonna be feast or famine, and if Weaver makes the best of of it again, he should be a head coach somewhere next season.

Oh, I'm not saying that Teddy or Snoop played well in Miami.  I'm saying that Wilson and Ewers would probably be worse.

Both Teddy and Snoop have played better as professionals than Wilson, and Ewers' preseason has been worse than Skyler Thompson's preseasons as a Dolphin.

There is more to "the economy" then simply inflation; unemployment rates, wage growth, GDP are all other important factors to consider.

But yes, inflation spiked in 2021 and 2022 before returning to normal by mid-2023.  (Inflation "returning to normal" does not mean "we return to 2019 prices" any more than it means "we return to 2019 wages".)  I have mentioned before about how much of that inflation was driven by corporations price gouging during and after COVID because they saw consumers would simply accept it as due to the pandemic, and how that price gouging resulted in record profitability for corporations in the wake of COVID.

This is not true and not fair.

Prices were starting to become an issue.  It's fair to say why you think things are expensive, but prices have been going up for the last several years since COVID.
I won't touch the fact everyone blamed the covid prices going up on Trump but when Biden took office, the economy was doing well. In 2022 my wife and daughter lost their jobs the first time so we saw first hand how much more expensive it was to live. My daughter is a single income trying to live on her own. My wife was one of the last of 220 underwriters let go as thousands across the country were let go. This happened for many industries in the last 3 years. Even now, my wife is doing the exact same job she has done for the last 20 years but is making 65K less a year to do it, and it is not a commision job.

In 2008 we crashed hard but it quickly turned around. This thing we are going through now has been steadily rising for years. The chart below is  how I remember it. We know who was in office 2020-2024 but I don't even think that matters. The fact remains we have been struggling for a while and something needs to give. It appears we are trending in the right direction so eventually things will shift back. For those of us in the last leg before retirement is is really tough because we have nothing to contribute.

All I see is our holes. I used to think if this and this happens, we can be pretty good. I've lost that optimism after dozens of times of being wrong. Our offensive line has no depth and our DBs are just plain bad and or inexperienced. It would take a miracle to pull off being competitive with teams like Buffalo and Washington and I don't see it as a stretch to think we could split with New England and the Jets. Many of the other games will be a toss up IMO. I hope I'm wrong but I feel we will be arguing about getting rid of Grier and MCDaniel at the end of the season. I'm not sold that Ross would, but we as fans and media could be calling for it.

It's kind of funny that liberals didn't notice we were struggling until Trump took office but we have been struggling since 2020 and it's likely to get worse before it gets any better.

Don't read too much into preseason games.   A lot of the guys you see will not be on the team come opening day.  Preseason is where key guys get hurt because guys who are established are going half speed to avoid injury.   Meanwhile they are going against guys who are fighting to make the team and those guys go at 150%.   That's a recipe for disaster.
You mean I can't count the fact we tied Chicago but the Bills got smashed by them? Hahaha

I don't think Wilson or Ewers are an upgrade over Teddy Bridgewater or Tyler Huntley.
I'm not sure what you think happened but Huntley did very little but run and Teddy never amounted to much of anything here in Miami. Tyler played in 5 games and had 3 TDs and 3 INTs with a 64% completion rate. Bridgewater played in 5 games, threw 4 TDs and 4 INTs with a 62% completion rating.  They both seem to be on par with Zach Wilson's career and Ewer's keeps getting better with minimal snaps like you would expect a rookie to do.

As the seemingly conservative rep let me assure you high prices suck. Most of us have downsized and are still struggling. It's kind of funny that liberals didn't notice we were struggling until Trump took office but we have been struggling since 2020 and it's likely to get worse before it gets any better.
Yes, I'm sure you were "struggling" in 2015 and 2016, doing amazing from 2017 to early 2020, and then struggling since then.  Never mind what the numbers say about the economy!  Those are all rigged.

Hate to be the one telling you this but the DNC is at an all time low because they apparently only fight culture wars with dramatic rhetoric. No one hears or see anything else from them.
I remember hearing from them "Republican Presidents have destroyed the economy again and again" and "Donald Trump wants to start trade wars with the rest of the world," but apparently no one was listening because "Trump is for you and Harris is for they/them."

As prices continue to skyrocket, you can sleep soundly knowing that Trump is preventing some sophomore transgender girl from competing on the high school softball team, or maybe that some illegal immigrant who was brought here as a 2-year-old has been snatched up and thrown in some foreign dungeon, where they are beaten and starved as punishment for their crime.

I mean, this is what our current White House considers a relaxing video to help you sleep.  So all the Trump voters who will be kicked off of food stamps in the coming months can just watch that to fill their stomachs.
