From what I've read.  Boom or bust.

He is fast, but never really produced much.  Could have been the QB situation at Maryland.  I think I read that he has some poor work habits, but not sure on that one.

Ted Ginn Jr. v2.0 is what you'll be getting with Heyward-Bey.  An underclassmen WR, that's extremely raw in running routes, but has elite speed.  He has more height than Ginn (6'3), but they are essentially the same player.

The only difference is we would be drafting him at #25 instead of #9.  I wouldn't be completely upset with this pick, seeing as he would be going to a better coaching staff than Ginn did, and he has 3 inches of height and about 20lbs more weight than Ginn.

I say wait till the second round, and grab Nicks, Britt, or Maclin.

Maclin probably will not make it to Miami's 1st Rd. pick.   He will be the 2nd Wr off the board, unless he blows his workouts, so no way will he make it to their 2nd Rder.

Nicks or Britt in round two would suit me just fine...but I'd definitely prefer Hakeem Nicks.

How about grabbing a WR via trade or free agency?  I'd love to see Chad Ocho Cinco or even Anquan Boldin opposite Ginn.  I think Ocho Cinco has cinco solid seasons left in him.  Isn't he a south floridian?

Antonio Bryant did some work in TB this year, and I believe he is a free agent.

Ocho Cinco-  Hell no!!!  He was a cancer in Cincy.  We don't need his type here.

Anquan Boldin-  I'd love to have him, but the Cards might ask for too much.

Antonio Bryant-  Did not get along with Parcells in Dallas.  Won't be a Dolphin.

Tommy, I think you just don't want Ocho Cinco to take the place of Mark Duper as our #85.  From what I have been reading Houshmandzadeh may also be available.  Sans baggage, Ocho Cinco would be a great compliment to this offense.

Bryant seemed to be a good egg in TB, maybe he is growing up a little bit.

Johnson is not Duper. Duper was not a locker room cancer and not an over the top attention whore. There is probably to much bad blood for Bryant to come here.
I would rather see us spend FA money on other positions such as OL/DL, secondary, etc. than on this group of WR's.

I like Bey's size but, I don't think thats the direction we need to go.I think we need more beef on the Oline and Dline. No matter who we have as a receiver if they can out run Chad's arm it doesn't do us any good! Our receiving core wasn't that bad last year and I think they will improve.
Beef on our Oline will open up the run game witch in turn helps with our passing game.
I believe we need a Casey Hampton type on our Dline.A guy who can shut down a run and occupy a couple of blockers. This should allow for us to pressure more QBs and help our secondary greatly!

Maybe next year(2010) if Chad #2 takes over we pickup some big, fast, and physical receivers to get the ball down the field.

I'd prefer young talent instead of retread talent if we're going to go after a true #1 WR. Chad Ocho Cinco...no, hell no and get the fukk out of here. Ocho Stinko is done-o. Antonio Bryant...no thanks, I prefer to get better bargains if forced to sign sociopathic primadonas, and Antonio won't be on the discount rack this offseason.

Every team has its drama these days... I'm not saying the players are't making the soap opera, but maybe the team atmosphere itself could be making the situation worse. I'm going to use T.O. as an example. It took him a until the end of his 2nd second season in Dallas (right arouund the time they knew they were out of playoff contention) before he started bad mouthing Romo. But, it was over and done quickly - it didn't go ON and ON like it did in Philly.

Look at Joey Porter.  It's been a pretty quiet season off the field for him.

Maybe the seasalt air might be enough aeromatheorpy to calm down some of those hotheads. if not, there's always contract clauses that can send a person packing - but then we've lost time/effort with a player. Still.......
