2011 NFC East Champions!

« on: September 09, 2010, 04:22:29 pm »

A 1-4 starting record doesn't inspire Super Bowl aspirations for me. Maybe it does for Rex Ryan's group of misfits, and maybe dreaming of being a team that comes back from a 1-4 start to win it all is the motivation that they use to get by each day.

Whatever the case, the formerly-named Titans will lose four out of their first five games, hopefully knocking them off their high-horse and back down to the cellar where they belong. The 2010 New York Jets are a collection of has-been's, wanna-be's, and never-will-become's that are writing checks that Goldman Sachs won't even cash.

Why will they start 1-4? Here's why:

Game 1: vs. Baltimore
Joe Flacco is going to expose their over-rated, aging defense and strike with aggressive precision. Baltimore's defense is going to pick off Mark Sanchez so many times that the Jets will think Jay Cutler is their starting QB.

Game 2: vs. New England
I feel a strong performance from the Patriots this season. Hey - they won their division last season!

Game 3: at Miami
Last year, the Jets lost both games to the Dolphins, including that wild Monday Night Football game where Ted Ginn actually caught a pass or two. Miami will again find a way to edge out the Jets

Game 4: at Buffalo
Of course the Jets will win this one - it's Buffalo!

Game 5: vs. Minnesota
The Vikings will show the Jets what would have happened had the Jets known how to hold on to an 11-point playoff lead and had Brett Favre not given the game away on one of his signature across-the-field interceptions. If you're not following that - the Vikings would have killed the Jets in the Super Bowl, and the same will happen here in week 5.

It will be great because Brett Favre is getting tired of the Jets stealing the spotlight away from him.

I'd be careful about giving Minnesota wins.  They have lost 2 starters from last year's team at least for the first part of the year and a third is having headache problems.  On top of that Favre is kinda gimpy right now and one good hit could knock him out.  Then there's always the possibility that Favre isn't able to reproduce the phenomenal year he had last year especially at his age.  I see Minnesota struggling a bit this year.

Throw enough crap against the wall, something's bound to stick.

Not this one though...the steamy mess slid all the way to the floor.

Week 3: vs. New York Jets
Result: LOSS
Darrelle Revis will end his holdout on gameday and come in to set an NFL record with 5 INT in one game, 3 of which returned for TDs.

That said, if you play both sides of a matchup, one of them is bound to win...

^^^^  I am now hoping for a tie week 3 between Mia and Jets, so Jtex can be wrong in both threads.

2 hours to Kick off!  I really think I'm looking more forward to seeing the Jets beat , then the Dolphins win.

Go Ray Lewis. Don't let me down now! And if you chase a player out of bounds and "accidental" knock Rex Ryan's block off...........I will never ask for anything again.  Evil

The jets look like a really poorly coached team. And they're losing at the half

so much for the big mouth jets... they get it 4th and one, ready to score a td, and decide their not tough enough to get the one yard.

The Jet offense is terrible.

I had a feeling this would happen. Way too much hype. The only reason the Jets are still even in the game is because the Ravens have found ways to turn over the ball.

Granted, the Ravens D is tough but the Jets havent made one significant drive all game. If you are a "Super Bowl" caliber team then you should be able to mount some sort of offense in spots.

Holy shit Tepop and I actually agree on something.  Dustin Keller is a moron.  Goes out of bounds a yard short on fourth down when he could have easily had three more yards on that play.  Ah, that made my day.

YES!!!!!!!!  Did you see that hit Ray Lewis put on that receiver at the end of the 4th? That was a clear message to Rex to STFU.   Don't be cashing checks you can't cover. Ray has a Ton of money in the bank!

I gotta admit, The Jets have a Sick Run defense. I mean they are all over it. But even though they have great athletes, they are not a Team. Undisciplined. never saw such a penalized Team. They beat themselves. Fun to watch and Sanchez already has a Limp!

Is it me or is that Jets team a super poorly coached team?

Watching Rex Ryan squirm around on the sideline knowing he had no chance to win was a great sight to see. The Jet players, coaches, and fans looked like hey had all the air sucked out of the hype balloon pretty easily. Ryan looked like a beaten man way before the final whistle.

I have a feeling this team will self destruct. Hard knocks, the media, talking heads, and Ryan himself pumping up this team is already starting to backfire... Hard to live up to that kind of hype when you finished the year before at 9-7.
