You pick Jason Allen because you hated him from before.  He had a bad game, but the PI in the end zone didn't seem like a legit call to me.  He made one bad play, by my estimation.  Granted it went for a TD.  I agree he had a bad game, but:

No pressure on the QB all night.  Sanchez's uniform was bright sparkling white at the end of the game.
2 passing plays on 2nd and goal from the 2.  Why?

The game plan kicked our ass tonight, so I give the shame to Tony Sparano for leaving his team unprepared.

After Brian's little rant I still am picking Allen. I agree the PI was ticky tacky (the announcers didn't even retract their statement about him not turning his head as he clearly was trying to find the ball) but that TD he gave up to Edwards was terrible. You have to play smarter than that in man coverage.

You're all being too hard on Jason Allen in my humble opinion.  He clearly slipped on that play to Edwards, it looked like he was in position to make the play before he slipped.  Not getting his head turned around on the pass interference is a bigger problem, but one that a lot of cornerbacks have trouble with.  Let's not forget that Vontae slipped a bit and let Keller catch a long TD too on the openeing drive, yet no one is blaming him.  CB's are gonna get beat from time to time, that's just how it is.

Chad Henne. He was horrible on that last play of the game. Grin HAHA JK

Actually, I'd give it to Kendall Langford. Sanchez handed him an INT, and he dropped it. JK again!

I would pick Allen for the 3rd and long play, when he had safety help on Edwards, but he misplayed it. That was a key play. If he plays that correctly, its not a completion for a first down (and may have even been a pick.). The Jets then kick a field goal and our offense has more time to move the ball.

What no one really talks about is when Vontae fell down in the end zone covering Edwards on a square out, leaving Braylon by himself in the end zone.  Sanchez threw a bad ball and it didn't get completed.

Seems like the footing on the "infield" new sod was pretty poor...

I would say our DEs in general. Somehow they kept forgetting rule number one is to contain the end. They kept getting outside because our ends were biting inside.

After some deeper contemplation, I think Henning really deserves the shame more than Allen does. I think the play calling had many more mistakes than Allen did. I really think the way Henning called the game left points on the field for us.

I have a hard time blaming Henning this week...only because I thought we actually started opening up the playbook a little, which is what I was hoping for from this offense all along.  We'll see next week whether he keeps the throttle open or not.

I'm (for the last time, I hope) going to nominate the joker who decided to cut ties with Jason Taylor.  The guy got pressure all night, got one sack, and forced miami to run a tight end or running back at him all game long (seriously, Ronnie Brown should have changed his name to "Chip" for the game).

OK, now that I got that out of my system, allow me to nominate Jason Allen as well.  It's not that I think he stinks, but he did give up 2 touchdowns in a game we lost by 8.  He kind of has to get it, I think.

Let me just point out that we had a f*cking fullback on Taylor when he got his sack. Like that's EVER going to work. Someone needs to see that and just take the timeout (probably Henne).

has to be special teams... coverage unit is not very good, punt got blocked, kickoff out of bounds, all led to 150 yards hidden jet yardage (per sparano).

can't win many games like that when you don't force any turnovers on your own.

hm to jason allen... he didn't have a very good game last night no matter how you spin it. true we didn't have any pass rush whatsoever, but the jets passing game was short to medium routes. quick drops, get the ball out.

Agreed.  I'm giving it to Henning again because of that as well as two Wildcat play calls on 2nd and long and third and long.  This guy obviously doesn't know when to run and when to throw.  It seems like he abandoned the run after we got down 14-0

I change my mind. Special teams by far!! We need a new ST coach. Seems like the Jets have a pretty good special teams coach. It's a shame we don't have him!!  Shocked
